Blackberry 8800 and Bluetooth Address Book
Hi. I have an '07 328xi E90 with NAV (along with many other goodies).
I used to have a Treo 700wx which didn't pair at all with the system. So, I dumped it in exchange for a Blackberry 8800 series (Sprint). Pairing is perfect. And up until 2 days ago, my entire address book (2300+ entries) showed up in my "Communication" screen. Now, however, only A-I entries are present on my screen. J-Z are non-existent. Any thoughts? I appreciate the help.

I could swear I read somewhere in this forum that only 500 entries transfer to the Bluetooth phonebook. Are you sure that all 2300+ were available last time?

Have you tried forcing an addressbook transfer? From the 8800's bluetooth paired entry for your BMW, select options and "transfer addressbook".
Confirmed on the 500+ entries, I originally had a few thousand entries in there before I restricted BT syncing to a single category. |

I have not tried forcing a transfer. I will try that now. Thanks for the suggestion.
And excuse my ignorance, but how do you set the sync to a single category? Is that a phone thing or an iDrive thing? Many thanks!

Create a category for all the records that you want to sync between BB and car, you can do this from each record in the BB (painful but do-able) or from your source contacts program (Outlook, Notes etc.). Then in the phone's BT menu, select to transfer records of specific categories only, instead of the whole addressbook.

Thanks Peter. Your help is appreciated. I will take your advice and see what happens. I also put a call into Wireless Solutions -- BMW's Bluetooth Service Center. Since the 8830 from Sprint is not on their approved list yet, they cannot help me. This is despite the fact that other 8800 models are on their list. Oh well.
Thanks again.
