E90 325i 161 fitment question
Hey all, about to pull the trigger on some new shoes, most likely the Potenza RE-01R's. My question revolves around the balance of the car and sizing. Currently, I run the stock 225 front/255 rear RE050's and I have to crank the front tire pressure in order to balance the car (36/30 is what I usually run) as there is too much understeer. I am planning on running 235's in front and 255's in the rear with the RE01R's to reduce the understeer. I call the tire shop I'm thinking of using and ask for an install quote and the guy tells me that a 235/45 front, because it's taller than stock, will actually promote understeer. Huh? I haven't heard that one. Any experts out there who can opine on the matter?

I haven't heard that one either - taller = more understeer?
I know it may not look as cool, but have you considered 225/45R17 all around? That, to me, should promote a more neutral handling attitude. |

I spoke to a co-worker who tracks his heavily modified A4 and he hadn't heard the taller = understeer argument either. |
