Same here. Problem is I can't stop thinking about what to get next. C63? Ctsv? 335is?

Save the money and just bite the bullet for now and buy the m3 in 18 months. 230 pounds lighter and tri or twin turbo which would be a beast. Worth the wait If you ask me

That's too bad girl. 10K is alot to break out of your lease term. How far in/do you have left to go?
On the plus side, as mentioned above, wait til your lease is up and get something better.

the m3 spec'd out with all the options is probably going to be 75-80k

its already been confirmed that they are using an inline 6.

not sure why anyone would think it would be easier to develop a tune for the new m3 motor than it is for the n55.

and finally, ill believe it when I see it that the car is 230lbs lighter than the current m3. the e90 and new 3 series are the same weight, i am hoping that the m3 is the same weight as the current m3.

by the time the new m3 comes out, there will be tons of options and upgrades for the n55. it takes time, just like it did for the n54.

^ The techs at my dealership have been sent to F30 training and one of the biggest changes in the F30 chassis is the reduction in control modules. in an E90 there are dozens, in the F30, there are *2* main ones. I'm sure that's not 230lbs worth, but it's something.

It's also confirmed it will be lighter... As to price I don't really care since m5 was my first choice but it's too much of a car and m3 will b perfect and cheaper. The M3 starting power is 430 to 450 bhp with similar torque... Once tuned, it will be a beast in all aspect, I think the tuners will be ready to create a few options rather quickly.

i hope it will be lighter. but from what I have read, the goal is to make it no heavier than the outgoing model.

i owned an e9x m3, and definitely hope the new model is lighter. compared to my 135i, the m3, although it gripped much better (especially front end grip) it definitely also felt heavier.

as for the tune, i think it will be no different than the n55. the tunes will come out, but it will take time because of the complex DME design.

i hope it will be a great car, but we will see. i just hope they dont price themselves out of the market like they did with the 5 and 6 series for example.

EDITED TO ADD : thats good for you that price doesnt matter, but it does for most people. We will see if the car is 30k better than a regular 1 or 3 series. I for one am looking forward to a sedan version of the 335is or something like that in a couple years. A bumped up n55 with DCT would be a lot of fun, and likely a good value if BMW doesnt go nuts on the pricing. So far DCT has been a lot of fun with the n55.

That is not true at all. An F30 has a good 15+ modules just like the E90 does.

They changed the type of modules(the main gateway etc) and how the main ones communicte, but there are still a ton of modules in the car, definitely not 2.

My lease is up Aug 2013, I am either sticking with the N55( I dont mind it) and getting an Msport F30 this summer or switching and going with the N63 powered 550i Msport.

Cobb will have something eventually for the N55. It took them 5 years to develop something for the N54, it will take them time to develop something for the N55 which has only been out for 2 years. It will come around, the N55 is in everything now. The N54 is going bye bye aside from the IS models (for now) If you cant wait get a Procede of JB4 for the time being.

The price does matter, it always has :-) but for once I am treating my self to the m3. But then again it's two years away...
