Jesus. What's wrong with you people? Lease or not? Who cares. Looks good or bad? Who cares! I thought we were all into the essence of performance cars, not the image. The Nissan GTR is a better performer. It's got the M and a lot of other great cars beat, too. That is all. If all you're into is looks, then suit yourself, you compensating poser

Sweet car OP! I, too, have been thinking about dropping my thrice delayed M3 order, but there aren't any GTRs around and the price is finally more commensurate its performance (i.e a lot!). Enjoy!

Seriously, fuck off if you're going to make stupid comments. It's the internet, your opinions aren't that important.

Congrats on getting a GT-R, they're absolute animals. The best part of the GT-R is the performance upgrades: once you get bored of stock, tune it to 600, 700, or 800hp!

The guy driving looked like he wasn't older than 25 years old. That car costs $229,000 base MSRP and does a 0-60 in 3.5 secs. GT-R does 0-60 in 2.9 and costs $130,000 less. To add insult to injury, the GT-R weighs 600lbs more and will smoke it all day. LOL!
Congrats on your new car , it is bad-ass , not a bad choice for the price ! But let's be realistic , you don't smoke a 458 all day long , only on the first few meters because of your AWD , a 458 in straight line and on a track will be faster then your GT-R and probably more fun too ! Also if you wonder how Nissan manage to build a car like that for that price , just look inside ,the answer is there !

Anyway , really nice car for sure , exept for those UGLY exhaust tips and those wheels , nothing to hard to resolve , just my .02 !

Why must the GTR lovers insist that everyone would own a GTR if they could?

Image and looks are two very different things. I could give a rats ass about image. Looks are an essential part, IMO, of appealing car design. FWIW, I love the looks of Nissan's own 370Z. Even the interior design is far more appealing IMO than the GTR's.

And it doesn't seem to me like you know what a "poser" is.

That is a good point. I like the exterior/interior (especially exterior) styling of 370Z as well. It is hard to see why Nissan doesn't realize that they're lesser car looks far better

PS: I remember watching a documentary when the R35 GTR was first announced. IIRC, the CEO of Nissan tells the designers something like this: "You must retain the original taillight design, for the rest of the car, you can do whatever you want." I think he made a mistake

Unfortunately I can't get past the looks on this car. Just doesn't do anything for me and it's an auto. I am not hating, just an observation from a former Nissan owner. You need BOTH for a complete car and the Nissan GTR delivers in ONE aspect here.

There's more to a car than just numbers...it's a sum of sound, design, craftsmanship, character and performance.
The grr lacks in all of the above expect for performance...

TO ME, GT-R is one of the ugliest cars out there right now. Then OP comes out and starts comparing it to a 458 Italia...are you kidding me?
None of you would talk like that to someone in person.

If you dont like it, why not just not participate in the thread?

When you are excited about something, you want to tell people about it. Nothing like a bunch of internet tough guys talking down the car to ruin his excitement.

You dont like it, thats cool. Keep it to yourself. Believe it or not, you dont always have to make a comment on threads like this.

Thats cool.

I refuse to promote people acting like punk kids by talking **** behind the protection of their keyboard and monitor.

Enthusiasts shouldnt talk to each other that way imo.

Have a little respect for your fellow car enthusiast.

I'm not defending people who hate the GTR because of looks. But to your point, and enthusiast shouldn't also make a comment like this:

Yeah , I'm pretty sure the OP by starting a thread in the M3 forum was expacting people to tell him they would've bought a GT-R if they had the money !

Maybe he just really likes his new GTR? He never mentioned anything about the M3.
