What's wrong with my car?

Ok...My question might be a stupid question, but I don't know how to ask it properly.

So..a few years ago, when I was making a right turn, my car stopped with a "service engine soon" light. I don't know how to explain it, but It felt like my wheels were twisted (not literally though). I stopped car then started it again and it was fine for a few days. After about..10 days, it happened again.

I took my car to my deal and..I was told that my car is fine. Ever since then, time to time, I feel like my wheels are twisted (think it as you cross your leg yourself and fall off).

A few days ago, my car stopped again with "service engine light soon". I took the car to my dealer, and they told me it's fine again.

What could be wrong with car? I just feel so insecure

get a new dealer

if they could not pull the code history for the SES light, they are incompetent

i am not sure what you mean by wheels twisted, does it feel like the throttle plate closed by itself? it may be failure of the electronic throttle body or pedal potentiometer, but without that code or a better description of the problem that is pure speculation

You need to provide better information in order for people here to help you, starting with the year of your car. The twisted wheels/crossed leg/falling off description is difficult to understand. You stated that your car stopped in traffic with a check engine light, but then state that you stopped the car and started it. Which was it? It's all very confusing.

Is the car simply hesitating, or is it stalling? Are you losing power in your steering or braking when this happens?

@edrive90 // So...for the first two, my car completely stopped. I wasn't able to restart the engine. For the last time, it stopped with "Service Engine Soon" light, but I was able to start it again. I think my car is hesitating and stalling. I used 'twisted' because it feels like only rear right wheel is hesitating most of the times.

@edrive90 // No, I didn't know about that until now. My warranty expired about 2 years ago. Am I still qualified to ask to check for the battery cable recall?

Update: Just checked my car's manufactured date. It's September 2006. The model is 2007. Am I still qualified?

3-Series sedans manufactured March 2007 through October 2011. Your car should be fine.

I had similar issues last summer. When turning the car would brake on one side using the DTC system (I am an xi). I had to dealer it to get a new Steering Angle Sensor and a clock spring (under CPO).

I would dealer it if you're under warranty or Indy it if you're not
