im assuming the stock filter is the charcoal?.. correct me on my ignorance .. i took my filter out and apart.. one side hada black dark grey liek filter the other side was a white filter with orange rubber strip?.. im assuming this is anything liek what ya'll talking about r&n?..

Just replaced my filter, deleted the charcoal, and did this mod.
The most painful part was getting everything to line up. Nothing lines up perfectly, but just be persistent and it will work out.
I'm not noticing any noise changes right now, but I haven't ran my car in two months, so I didn't have much to go off of.

What's a Charcoal Filter? Are you talking about removing the cabin air filter up by the window?

I would first like to thank you for the DIY it defiantly gave my motor a meaner growl than before and for 30$ can't beat that, but to say that it's a pain in the ass is un understatement. This project was frustrating as hell. I'm mainly worried right now how it's going to hold in the long run but so far it sits in really tight.

The silencer is basically the entire tube that connects between the engine and the air sensor(that kinda self explanatory utherwise why would you need to make new hose) lol kinda of late response
