Engine Misfiring cylinder 2 & 4

What are the physical indications of a bad sparkplug / coil? I will be attempting to service the bimmer tomorrow evening.

A misfire is usually a coil. Modern plugs rarely go bad in modern cars. It also could be a bad injector. These cars are notorious for losing coils. Try replacing them as a first step.

Better yet, get the fault codes read then you'll know what's actually causing the misfire, instead of guessing...

You might also want to list if this is a N52, N54, or N55. N54 is a master pro at fucking up coils..

I do have an dormant E92 328XI I'm no longer using (pending trade) could I pull the coils off that car and swap them onto banks 2 & 4?

FYI...

Cheapy scanner (autozone) Detected misfire on cylinder 2 and 4. I do have those suspected coils out and they actually look fairly new. Anything out the ordinary I'm supposed to look for on bad coils?

N54 engine, can I swap coils from my 328xi?

So according to ECS tuning the 328 and 335 share the same MFG# from BOSCH.
Bosch 2550226 Mfg#: 12137594937.

Just confirmed the coil packs from my 335 are indeed ending 7594937.

Sorry for the late response and the mileage is 127xxx. Unknown history prior to 90xxx, purchased car @ high miles.

Try replacing them as a first step. __________________ A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
