Opinions on Borla Agressive
Guys, been looking at the cost of the beloved HKS cat-back and it prompted me to look at things again. The Borla aggressive seems priced well and is light weight and is natural finish, which I prefer. Shiny attention is bad. and Borla makes some race pipe also for that system. So I could do a down-pipe back bolt on system for a very good price. And on youtube the sound is pretty good. very smooth.

Well its done. Ordered the borla aggressive. And race pipes. For less than just the catback hks. Not to mention i really didnt want a polished system. Attracts attention. See how it goes.

If it's the same price then get the HKS.
HKS is primary cat-back (connects to downpipes) which means it includes a resonated race pipe you speak of (removes secondary cats). It also has some of the highest power gains out of all exhaust systems on the market. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=hks |

Oh so the hks is comparable to the borla with the race pipes. I see. Eh. Still cheaper. Otd for $1432. Hks was going for $1600-1800 otd. Ill post pics weights and a vid.

The Borla is not similar to the HKS. The HKS piece has resonated mid pipes, an h-pipe crossover, and much larger rear boxes. I had a Borla sport on the car, hated the tips. Borla aggressive uses the same tips. With the race pipes your paying almost the same as what you would for an HKS.. not to mention that the Borla with race pipes will be extremely loud. You could pick up a used Borla pretty cheaply on the FS forums. For 1400 you can pretty much pick up whatever you want.

Yes with the pipes. 1089 for the syst. I really want to try it. Not to be an ahole but the exhausts for these cars are pretty dam expensive. Most are $2k. +

You can get a Vanguard unit for about 1.2k shipped brand new and pretty much all the other unit's for between 1.4-1.6k. You also should just browse through the FS Forums.. most systems are available for between 700-1.2k used in great shape.

The only thing that has me worried is will it fit the Sedan. Borla's website lists it fits all Xi's, coupes and sedans. But the instructions say coupes. Even the place I bought it from lists it fitting a sedan. I'm calling borla in about 1hr when they open to verify. So we will see.

Guys, I have the tracking # for my exhaust and pipes from borla. UPS is saying it's 26 Lbs!!! That's both parts, the catback and pipes into one package totaling 26#. UPS has to be correct b/c that's how they base payment. That is almost unbelievable. I'm thinking this is basically a racing exhaust with two small canister mufflers. Based on the grassroots data, the OEM system is 78 Lbs. That's a 52# reduction. Something doesn't sound right. I'll be weighing everything myself and post findings.

Couldn't be happier with my Borla race exhaust. Not to mention I through some race cats on it. It is the best sounding exhaust imo. You will love it!!!!

I agree with Mflowt5; I have the Borla agressive cat back with the racing midpipes and I like it a lot. It does drone a bit around 2k rpms but its nothing that some resonators can't fix. And I love how the cold starts wake up my asshole neighbor at 5:30 am when I go to work!
