how fast are u reversing back? i go slow but i slam the brakes and the abs does kick in for a split second

At least 130kms/h, make sure you are on a wide stretch of road. You need to do the rear drift in order to get rid of this annoying issue

well after a few weeks of peace and quiet on the brakes, the noise has come back. I think I may have to try this again. I dont recall the speed but it wasnt that fast.

jsut back from bmw sydney, they cant find the noise full stop. i dunt know if i am too sensitive or not, however, will definitely go back if the noise gets worse.

just wanted to add to this thread, bought an 06' 320i a couple of weeks ago and they changed discs and pads for me as part of the deal.
initially there was a squealing sound when slowing down from crawling speed to 0, really annoying, but now that seems to have gone by it self i hear at really quite time at night constant brake wear indicator noise....really really light but u can hear something for sure...anyone experience something similar? by the way i also notice whenu reverse and brake u can hear something making a metallic sound from the brakes always the one sound and same frequency....
if anyone could help out at what this could be would really appreciate it

Reviving an old thread here...

Anybody successfully have their squealing brakes replaced by the dealer, car tends to make this noise braking from 10km/h and under.

Ive personally found using heaps of anti-squeal on the back of the pads helps. As does giving the calipers & pads a really good soaking with heaps of water when washing the car as I'm sure it's the dust that the OEM pads let off that is part of the problem.

Another thing to try, just try breaking really really hard a few time from high speed. It is kinda like machining ur disc and pads. But dont over do it. U could make it worse especially when the pads are still quite new.

Break squeak most time because the pad and the disc has been breaking gently for too long forming a smooth surface on the pad and disc. Smooth surface can therefore can slip easier and can create squeaky sound. Other cause of nosiy breaks can be also due to poor quality of pads and disc (ie. very hard material) which shouldn't be the case for BMW as the pad and disc are relatively soft.
