That's not bad at all for £50.

In fact, for £50 I would go every other month!

Wow, looks good! Pic quality doesn't justify it I'm sure but it does look good nonetheless.

Yes thats a good price and cars look so good after a machine polish - especially black. It can look flat before and a good polish gives a great finish.

Problem with black is driving to the country scene it will get very dirty on the way.

Until you run out of paint!!

The clearcoat is only so thick and each time you machine polish you lose a few more microns.

But £50!!!!

It takes me days to do mine.

I paid 50 because my mate is a salesman for BMW. The pic does not do it justice the finish is like silk to touch, real happy with it! the fella used autoglym on it it comes in a small pot like a pot of hair wax. Just got to make sure I keep it up lol

That's a great price, Especially if it not the same one as silly Sytner. They use weak polish with fillers in them.

How come they advertise this offer more or is it only when you go for service?

Interesting, called Chandlers Brighton, they want £60 incl vat for it, they'd want the car for a day though, very competitive price I thought ?

I'm also skeptical! On one hand we all know how lovely BMW washes are (pun for those who think I'm being serious) and on the other hand, I'm skeptical leaving my car with someone who has access to a machine polisher there!!

I would think this is brilliant 'top up' for when the car has already had a full detail .. and since mine has never been fully detailed, I'm inclined to have that done first and then maintain the condition either through my own efforts (if I can be bothered) or take it BMW for a 'top-up' every 3 months or so.. and in between that, do what I can.

Also skeptical, proof of the pudding will be after you've washed the car a couple of times.

I'd put money on the fact that BMW have just used a Filler heavy polish to make the car shiny.

Great looking car though.

+2, sorry but my distrust of car dealers in general guys far. Seems far too cheap to be true but happy to be proved wrong

Whilst on topic, how much would a local detailer in London charge for a quick going over with a DA to remove light surface swirls and scratches? I know it varies from company/person, but ball park figure?

As I always assumed £300/£400, but seeing figures of £50-£100 flying around...

problem with this is how many scratches and swirls do you want to get rid of. to go over it quickly would improve the shine and get rid of some of the light marks but you would still be left with the deeper ones and so on. to do the job youd be satisfied with you really need to lightly sand the laquer to remove the deeper scratches and then use a series of heavy/light compounds to bring the gloss back personally id say you be pushing it to do it in a day so £300 doesnt look out of the way.

You do make a valid point, it's something I've always put off because of cost but I suppose you get what you pay for.

Think I'll do some research for when the weather warms up!

having been visiting local BMW showrooms for 20 years now i dont even let them wash mine when i take it in for work. Every single car on the forecourt is covered in swirl marks.
I think they just use a heavy filler and run a machine over the car in about 20 mins. Having said that you might have found a garage that can actually clean a car. Proof of the pudding will be after 2 or 3 washes (hopefully using a lambswool mitt!).
