Question for the Tuners on here...Evolve etc.
I know this isn't E90 but what sort of gains could I expect from mapping my MR2T?
Is it worth it or would other mods be better value for money? Would a remap take Jap speed limiter off the car? not 100% it is still on should have a play tomorrow and find out. Can you map the original ECU or would I need a different one first?

I've no experience with Jap remapping, all I do know is they are a differnet world to German (Bosche, etc...) ECU's, so you need to chat with tuners that "do" jap cars.
I'm sure Imran at Evolve can help out more, tink they have done some jap stuff in the past. Looking forward to UK7 Pod racing... although think I'll need to fit NOS to stand any chance against all these tweeked 335i/d's...! |

With most Japanse imports you can delete the 112 MPH top speed by adding a small electronic box or a mechanical mod.
The only way to remap most of the older Japanese cars is to add an Apexi standalone ECU and have it custom mapped. This is usually around the £1000 including the ECU (£600). We have the same ECU running Sultans RX7. You are best off joining an MR2 forum - I'm sure you will find all the info you need. |

There MR2 Turbo's that are MENTALLY modded running times quicker than a carrera GT and Zonda F etc, there are ones which run high 12's (still insanely fast) and there are stock cars. Porscha's stock car, (if it is) is a fast car, it will run a mid to low 14 i believe quite easily. Giving 330i's Type-R's and Focus ST's a major head ache. If its a good day id like to get somewhere near my best. Paul, (buiscuts) Thats cheating LOL.... Also The ford boys use Autronic very successfully. Sure it could be used on Jap. Just a matter of choice.

Thanks all I have joined an MR2 forum still trying to find my way round it! Oh and trying to convince myself some of the things some of them have done is not a good idea for me...
Some absolutely mental cars on there but brilliant too! Just for Biscuits some even running NOS! Some look stock but running like 350-400bhp think there is one running over 500! Mid to low 14s is really good for a stock 15 year old 2ltr car!
