Not much you can do about it. Just watch if they start smoking badly...then its time to change them out.

I have the same sound, I can hear it even from inside my home if someone else is driving my car. It started making this sound when I installed jb4 but I doubt that this is the cause. Got a dci and muffler delete and now i can't hear it since the exhaust is so loud !!

Less restrictions on the turbos, more and better air flow, more boost.

Its normal to hear the sweety and snake orchestra coming from the turbos expecially in colder weather

Well I hope this thread makes people a bit more comfortable because it looks like more than 60% have the noise.

Here's a more pertinent question:

How many people have had the siren noise for a really long time without much change?

It would be more reassuring to hear stories of it not being a sign of imminent failure.

It isn't going to fail right away, you can probably go a long time with this sound. If you keep over boosting eventually they will leak oil and that is going to be why you replace the smoke show. Check the Vargas update thread on the other forum. Tony states the primary failure of the turbos is oversee, followed by dirty oil, and surging.

Don't find your problems, let them find you!

I bought my car with 1 mile on it. By 200 it had this so called siren noise, turbo's make noises, it's normal until you have a boost targeting problem, or you drive on the highway and its absurdly loud.

+1 on waiting for problems to actually materialize.

Again though, this is not a normal sound ANY turbo rebuilder/tech/service will tell you this within 0.5 seconds.

Good point. How many miles did you have on your car when you sold it? And your turbo's never smoked?

Odd thing is my sound goes away after I get past the low RPM band. I would think if it's actually the compressor touching the housing it would stay constant, and at the same volume.

It might just be that other noises (ie, intake, engine, exhaust) drown it out in the higher rpm's so you don't hear it.

True. Do you have the sound being FBO?

Yes. I only really started hearing it in the fall when the temps started dropping. And it's mainly there on cold starts for me driving below 3k rpm. Once my oil temps start moving, it subsides.

Your compressor wheels aren't touching anything. That's the dentist drill noise, not the siren. If that were the case, you'd know you had a very serious problem. And as you said, the noise wouldn't go away. You have a very, very common noise. A lot of people don't even know the car isn't "supposed" to sound like that. Like I've told you about 5 times now, relax and go drive your car!

Thanks for the comment. I know, I am really paranoid about this noise. I guess I'll just have accept it for what it is. Lol.

I get that siren noise at low rpms but only when the turbos are under load. So it's present while driving but not when I'm parked and revving the motor like in the original video

Looks like most just completed the survey and never came back to this post.

I assume tons are just like me. They heard this sound mainly after they tuned their car. It scared them at first. It was mainly noticeable with cold temps and cold engine temps. It's not changed significantly since first noticed and their car still runs great.

In my case I do plan to go to Vargas or RobBecks when I get the money in a few years but I am not really worried that my overworked turbos are gotten suddenly go out. My 135 has been FBO and tuned and has had the siren noise when cold for 3 yrs or so. No performance loss and I actually barely even notice the siren anymore although I doubt it has gotten better but for sure it hasn't gotten worse.

Funny enough I don't really know why I plan to upgrade my turbos, even with an LSD, anything over 400+whp/tq just spins the heck out of the tires anyways!
