Oh please come on how ignorant is that to generalise: "Welcome to europe", when car prices differ this much:

http://ec.europa.eu/competition/sect...nu_table_a.pdf

a 3-series 320d from after tax 25k Euros to 72k. Germanys car prices are among the lowest.

A new 325i here, after taxes & registration, is going for $91-92k usd.
& everything here is paid by cash!

I wish I was in the States, I could've afforded an m3 & still had some cash for mods.

Ugh, Socialism. Taking from those that work hard and produce and giving it to those do neither. Of course the Govt. take 35 cents of every Euro/Dollar/ETC so they can have cushy govt jobs and power.

But don't worry, the States' are catching up as quickly as they can. Our government looks on with envy as to how much power your governments have. If they could they would remove our constitution and even more so our bill of rights. They remain an impediment to tranny.

AahahAHAaAHHA I whole heartedly agree.
If I were a president of a country, I'd rather be a president of a communist country.
You want Freedom of speech? I shut you down.
You want Human Right? I shut you down.
Beat that!

I do think that the States have quite a balanced system.
Some Americans have no respect & appreciation for what they have.

Anyways, lets talk about cars shall we

You should stop watching Glenn Beck and Fox news in general. It would also help to have some brain matter between the ears but 1 out of 2 is a start.

Definitely not, at least in Belgium. My wife transferred with the same company in the same job. On a number-to-number basis, she makes about 60% of what she did (in the northeast). If you do the currency conversion at 1.4$/euro, then she is at about 85% of what she made in the US. And that is before income taxes, 13% social security/medical contribution, and 21% VAT on everything.

If we lived in Switzerland, we would probably be making more on a currency-converted basis, but then the cost of living is higher than in Belgium as well. In Switzerland, I could be making about double what I am here in the same position.

On the plus side, traveling in Europe is nice (minus fuel prices).

I think the white on the E90 is cool! The frozen grey 5 series is awesome, though I still find it hard to get used to the matte finish, as if they forgot to put clear coat on top of it.

Yeah, German car prices are "low", here in the Netherlands prices are pretty horrible

Indeed The Netherlands is one of the worst after Danmark & Norway.

We have an E92 M3 Frozen grey with competition pack on display in our showroom, Pricetag €135k---> $195k
As well as a fully loaded X5M, Pricetag €195k ---> $ 280k

All prices listed include taxes. The options don't add up to 38k because they left out some options, e.g. the M-Sport Package.

Best regards,
south

I'm currently visiting Melbourne Australia and went into the BMW dealership to see if the prices were true. Since salaries are similar to Chicago in Melbourne, I didn't believe what people posted on here from Oz.

2011 335i = 20% in luxury tax for cars over $50k, 5% stamp duty, 15% in import taxes, and another 30-50% in price markup (governmental segregation of wealth + rich immigrants willing to pay + greed) = $125k for a 335i !!

I walked out disgusted.

Thats being said, the velvet blue is quite nice. It looks a little blu-er than montego.

I understand not seeing the difference between mineral white and bianca fuji white...BUT how the hell do you not see the difference between alpine white and mineral white is beyond me. You obviously have not seen it in person, because alpine white is a flat boring white (I love it..but thats what it is), and mineral/bianco fuji has metallic in it?

Pretty big difference IMO
