BMW 4 Door coupe!!!!!

YES!!!

I was talking to one of my client today..he is a car lover he has z8, gt10, and cls55 amg ..he was telling me that BMW is coming with a 4 door coupe to compete againts merc's cls..man.that will be awsome....don't know the production date but he said its gonna be in 2011....

let see where b'mer leads us...I already decided my options for e93 m3...but now this 4 door coupe....it will never stop...

what's a 4 door coupe? isnt that a sedan? by definition, isnt a coupe 2 door?

There is no such thing as a four door coupe - it's a ridiculous marketing ploy that's been reused many times. The CLS is just a sedan with mediocre headroom and poor outward visibility. The term "coupe" only refers to the number of doors (and, originally, seats). In fact, the 3er coupe is probably better described as a sedan.

4 door coupe is an oxymoron.

I once sat inside a CLS during a car local car show, and the cabin really gives you that coupe feel. It had very low seating position, long winshield, and a roof that felt extremely close to my head, all within a very tight cabin. The show only displayed the cars and did not allow any driving.

Maybe that's what Mercedes was implying in those comercials that I hardly see anymore.

Prior to E92, 3er coupes had always been 2dr sedans.

How did you decide your options for the e93 m3? Is there somewhere to go and see the options?

To the OP...

are you asking or telling us whether there will be a 4 door M3..

if so...then yes, M3 will be in 2 door and 4 door versions.

I dunno...just trying to figure out what he means.

If you look at the Mercedes CLS, it's a 4-door sedan that has the swoping lines of what you would normally see on a coupe. Of course this also means that it's harder for the rear passengers to get into the rear cabin without hitting their heads against the roof pillar.

Hence, a "4-door coupe" strives to convey the styling of a coupe in a sedan (4-doors).
