Laguna Seca trackday, lexus IS blows engine

Hey all,

I just got back from the hooked on driving trackday at Laguna Seca, great times out there.

it was raining in the morning so the track was pretty slick but it dried up later and finally gave some good grip.

there was a new Lexus IS350 with 5000 miles on the clock and it had to pull off partway through the first track session (sessions are 20 minutes)

I heard the thing attempt to startup in the paddock after I came in for the session, and it sounded like shaking a coffee can full of bolts.

the car ended up getting flatbedded out of there

just though I'd let you guys know that it's not just 335's that blow up

also a guy put a ferrari 360 stradale into a tire wall and dented every single panel on the passenger side and the rear of the car.

some of the guys who know more about engines than me said it sounded like it threw a rod

i have seen a video were a 350Z blew a piece off the engine. Im not to familiar with engine components but it looked to be a part of the actual engine block.
