Jl 600/6 bridged

Will I lose stereo seperation if I bridge the underseat mid basses? I'm using 2 Jehnerts and was planning on bridging the last 2 pairs to send them 200 watts, but was a fraid that would they be getting a mono signal from the inputs.

Do I need Y's or should I just connect one RCA input on each pair of channels, and if I do that what input mode should I set the amp to?

Or am I just overthinking this!

Rtfm. Its in there. If you wire one channel to both midbasses, yes you will lose stereo :

Hey thanks for getting back to me! Yeah I RTFM I guess I just didnt UTFM! I figured I would lose stereo seperation, hence my follow up question whether I should use Y's or just one input on each channel. I guess RTFEP comes into play here! I kid I kid.

But seriously the manual was a little vague, or maybe like I said I didn't understand it. I had an old ADS amp that allowed me to bridge and attach one input on each channel. The jl manual doesnt state this, and if it did I didn't see it!

So do I need y's or will one input on each channel work?

Just to update. I spoke with Jl tech support he said to use y's and set channel input to 6.

He was surprised to see that the manual didn't say anything about using one input on each channel at the amp, only the source unit. He said he was going "to look into it"

He said the amp is looking for both inputs on the channels to be used and using one could cause the amp to overheat.

For that amp you could run channel 1 and 2 as L and R for the front mids and 3 and 4 bridged to the left underseat and 5 and 6 bridged to the right underseat. You would run 2 left channel inputs to input 3 and 4 and 2 right channel inputs to input 5 and 6.

I just have to tune her up and I can finally sayI'm all done.

Took some picsof the install. I was thinking of putting them up.

@ Taibabl...yes it does, although it makes no mention of not using just one input on each channel at the amp, only the source unit.

I just read your thread. I guess you had the answer to it (Y cables).
As far as connecting one input at each channel, it will work but you will have to raise the gain to compensate the lack of other input (hence risk of over heating and noise).

Thanks Makkan, I appreciate the input. I guess I was just being cheap, not wanting to buy the Y cables haha!

Subquestion: do you care/will you notice if you lose stereo on your underseat woofers?

Bridging 4 channels to 2, 1 L and 1 R, you don't lose stereo in the underseats.

If you are audiophile, then yes!
However BMW under seat location does not help at all.
