I found out one of the studs was broken once at the track. I ordered replacement backing plate from GC (which they sold me for a very decent price). When I went back to Garbis to replace the damaged backing plate, upon removal, I noticed it was completely twisted. From the damage, it was clear to me that the plate was not properly seated when it was originally installed. This caused the plate to twist and brake off the stud. Garbis refused to take any fault and blamed it on a defective part. I am a mechanical engineer, a figuring what causes things to break is what I do professionally... I paid him the $300 he charged me to fix the plate and decided not to go back.
fml - i had my vorshlag plates installed there......how do i know they're installed properly?

You'll need to attend some HPDE/Lapping events with us next year. Tremblant, Watkins Glen, ICar, St-Eustache, SanAir ...

Jerry and I ended up missing the september events at the Glen and Tremblant. The Boston BMW guys have allowed us to transfer payment for a Watkins Glen event in May. I know it's early but if others would care to join next May we are already 2!!!

It was fun to return to the track after 2-years. Even though I was underpowered I had a great time. First time at Calabogie, very nice track and facilities. Picture of Calabogie, 7:45am foggy Friday morning. The sun soon came out, fog cleared and we were tracking.

It's funny how video games try to replicate real life... in this case real life looks like a video game.

I think it's time for a brunch meet.

What does everyone say we meet up next weekend at Jerry's resto in Mirabel? It's a nice drive and great food.

So I'm somewhat disappointed with my Carbotechs. They've provided the best grip I've ever had in any pad, but wtf, I installed them when I came back from my trip in late July, did 3 track days + about 5,000 kms on them, and they are pretty much gone. Wtf?!!

Had you talked to me before i'd have told you that those cost a bundle to run and to get PFC 08 (performance friction endurance pads, almost as performant as the PFC 01 but lasting much longer)

Plus I am running them on street, they are quiet....

That sounds about right. I never got more than 4-5 events out of a HPS or HP+. They also eat rotors.
