I still would not accept this as an outcome. Might be worthwhile to remind the manager that there used to be a large BMW dealership in Artarmon & Pennant Hills that due to poor customer service & trade practices is now selling Audi's and Mitsubishi's.

Perhaps writing a letter or email to BMW Australia might help you cause?

I remember when we had issues with my wifes Honda the only way I got the problems rectified was by sending an email to the local managing director of Honda Australia.

What your Taking Delivery from "Col Crawford Col CrawfordCol CrawfordCol CrawfordCol CrawfordCol CrawfordCol CrawfordCol CrawfordCol CrawfordCol CrawfordCol CrawfordCol CrawfordCol CrawfordCol Crawford" Make this turn up in any Google search

They were trying to sell me an M3 that they forgot to mention had been training cars I think they still have a couple of them Stealerships alright

If it were me I'd let the new car sit there till I sold my old one they will soon get annoyed with it sitting there and come back with some deal. It's like any business it cost them money if cars are sitting on the floor not being paid for. At least their credit limit is affected

I really can't emphasis this enough. A word of advice to all BMW owners and buyers - should avoid this particular dealership at all cost!!

worked out in the end ...

... and just to wrap up this one:

Ended up selling the Vectra privately (an opportunity presented itself). I think the dealer's objective was to not have another used car in the yard as the business seems slow. Doesn't help with developing any feelings of loyalty, though, so think they shot themselves in the foot.
Took delivery of the Beemer yesterday and it is beautiful, of course.
That new car smell is overwhelming though. And I can't open the windows yet while the tinting is drying ....
Will put some pictures into the 'BMW Garage' over the weekend...

Thanks again for all the comments and support.
