what rotors?

Alright guys, my oem rotors are beat to shit and need to be replaced all around. What do you recommend? I wouldn't mind more performance, but really I'm just looking for decent quality, for a decent price. (Read, is anything for $200-$300 going to be worth it?)
Any reviews for R1 concepts? Are cheap rotors gonna give me any headaches, or is it one of those things where they're all the same crap made in the same factory sold under different names, unless I spend more coin on something like Brembo, or oem?

In our experience there are a few different tiers of rotor quality, all of which are fine for street driving. Lower quality rotors may have inconsistent cheek thicknesses, inefficient cooling, and a liiiiittle extra weight due to flash from the castings. The quality of the iron may also vary by batch, which will effect the strength of the rotor though heat cycling.

Higher quality rotors will have consistent cheek thicknesses to prevent warping under high heat conditions, verified material quality, and less excess flashing. You might luck out and get 4 rotors for $300 that are exactly like OEM/Brembo/Sparta (see what I did there

), but if you spend the extra money, you can be sure the quality will be there.

For street use, I recommend Centric Premium rotors from Rockauto. They're cheap as chips and I've even tracked them with no issues. if you're very serious about track work and intend to use them very hard then something nicer will lessen your chance of a negative experience.

I went through a few set of those ECS slotted rotors over the years (track days, so they wear down fast). Never had an issue and they don't rust as much as the OEM ones.

Tried zimmerman discs for once, they were wrapped right out of the box...

I use Zimmerman cross drilled. Love them. If you buy them at FCP Euro, you get a lifetime warranty.

I currently use cross-drilled rotors from www.brakeperformance.com on both my e90s and have had nothing but great results. They are zinc-coated, so no rust, and while I'm not sure how they would hold up to track abuse, for spirited street driving and the occasional autox, they have been great. Can't argue with ~$150 per pair!

i love my ecs 2 piece rotors for my 335i. They save a ton of weight and they look cool.

For street I used the Mayle ones for all 4 wheels. Pretty happy with the reliability for the last 5 yrs.
