4 weeks and still no production time...

Hey guys;

Just venting here. So I placed the order on July 17th and I still have no time frame to start production. My SA tells me this week and a delivery date of mid September. I can't wait any longer, I should have just bought a car of the lot at this point!!

I know people have waited months for their car, I honestly don't know how anyone can wait this long!!!

Do you have a production number? To me, it sounds like the dealership, not BMW. Back in 2006 I ordered a 2007 E92, and I learned the games they played. Taking orders/deposits when they don't have an allocation, shuffling them as people cancel etc., obviously this is not a regulated industry so dealers can do what they wish.

But customers imho have the right to cancel and get their deposits back when they encounter the shenanigans.

As far as the wait goes, mine was 7 wks. and this was a E92 in late 2006...

i heard this too, you should get production number with a week, and if you call BMW NA they should be able to tell you info about the number (ex. order accepted...etc)

I have a production order number. I am planning on call BMW on Monday morning. This is getting ridiculous.

I feel your pain. I ordered mine on May 28th and was quoted a mid July delivery date. It only finished production on July 20th . Now the dealer is telling me it should be in mid/end of August.

You can use this guide to track yours: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=828

It's a long process that I'm still dealing with also myself. Ordered my car on June 6th should be at the port in San Diego this Tuesday and hopefully at my local dealership Friday/Saturday for delivery. Keeping my fingers crossed but in the end I think everyone will not mind the long process to get exactly the car they wanted.

Mine's coming from SA as well, CA told me production starts early this week. The website says its in production with no specific date of completion. CA told me I would have it by the end of september, but I have a feeling that's not going to happen unless my lucky stars align

No, its in October.

Your dealer is yanking you around man. I ordered a car 10 days ago and it went into production about 4 days after ordering. Hopefully it's done with production tomorrow or the next day!

according to wikipedia: BMWs with a VIN starting with "NC0" are manufactured in South Africa.

Are you SURE your car is being produced in South Africa??

talked to dealer again today after I added the car alarm (who knew a $50K car doesn't come w/ one) and they said production to start this week. BMWNA was not very helpful.

If it has not started production by the end of the month (which will make it almost 2 months!) I am going to cancel the order...this is getting ridiculous!

I hate to say it but I ordered my car around the 5th of August and BMW 800# says production will end tomorrow. Its a south africa build too. You need to find out what the hell is going on...

That's not to say I'm getting what I wanted... It seems BMW is out of tan leather so they changed it to black without telling me. What's up with that??

ya well I already got screwed by not getting the 193 M rims and getting the 287 style instead. So if the leather goes (have saddle brown ordered) and if it has not started production in the next week or two, I am walking away. I rather save my money for the next gen M3.

If you don't like whats being produced... why settle for less? You paid good money for the car, might as well wait for exactly what you want

Why are you getting screwed? If the car is delivered to your dealer with different rims than you ordered, they can swap out the rims. This is easy. Why would you possibly accept something other than what you ordered when its possible to fix it???
