11 bmw 323i winter rim questions

good morning, i am having an issue with a tire shop concerning winter rims. i have asked for 16" rims with michelin rubber. i setup the appointment, he put on the tires, and i drove away with the calipers scrapping the new rims. drove back in and had them removed. now, he is telling me that they can't find specifics for the 323i.
hopefully someone can help me out. what rim/wheel information do i need to give to get the correct steel rim on my car?
thanks.

Your factory comes with 16" alloy. The 16" steel rims can be used (maybe rare to find)

Size: 16" x 7", 5 Lug, 120mm Bolt Pattern, 31mm Offset

For BMW part #

my 2011 323i came with 17" 225 45 r17 91h.
so my issue is going to a 16" steel rim for winter tires. i believe the 16" rubber is less expensive and will work better in winter driving.
is the offset of 31mm the important part of the equation?

the offset is important as to how the rims sit in relation to the brake caliper.

Ask your shop to see what offset you had previously. He may be using some sort of universal steel rims, thinking it would not matter.
