I used to have the same code..
It is the O2 sensor. Even the code shows up not to often (takes some time after resetting with the code reader) You have to replace the sensor. It has nothing to do with tune or so, just quite often a bad part (thats what my mecanic told me.)

Im bumping this to the top since I just got this code. Has anyone else here got this and is it something that really needs replaced or should I just reset it?
Ive had other cars with O2 sensors read incorrectly and it wasnt always a bad part. In other words I think it was just a glitch in the sensor. Then again Im referring to a toyota and I think the BMW is a bit more sophisticated than my 4Runner. SO, what have you guys done with this code? Taken it in or just reset it? BTW, Im sure someone will say "its under warranty so just take it in"...to preemptively answer that statement, Im trying to stay away from the dealership at ALL costs until they figure out how to program my car without a lag...in other words, Im pre 29.2 and pre v81 so Im still pretty happy! |

P112D: O2 sensor negative current or positive current control open circuit (bank 2 sensor 1).
That is P112D, I think P112F is similar except I think it's a short to ground instead of open circuit. |

just got the 112f in my 2010 X5M... tried clearing it a few times and its still on the dash. Gonna let the truck sit for a bit hopefully it goes away. So did this turn out to be a bad O2 sensor? I was literally running on fumes when this popped up. Was running real rough got some gas and all the symptoms went away.
From reading the list above it looks like it could be the pedal position. PM me if you have any ideas. Last edited by Jimshorts; 08-29-2012 at 04:42 PM.. |

Did you find an answer Jimshorts? I just got this code in my 07 335i and would love to know what to do about it. Everything I've read is either a debate between an O2 sensor (location?) or this below. Any ideas would be appreciated.
P112F - Manifold Absolute Pressure to Throttle Angle - Too High (Bank 1) The fault is recognized when the relationship between the indicated intake manifold pressure and the mass airflow calculated based on throttle-valve angle is not correct Potential problem source(s): - Measured value for intake manifold pressure (absolute) too high - Vacuum leak within induction tract/crankcase - Incorrect throttle-valve angle - Pressure sensor defective - Check intake system and crankcase for leakage - Check throttle valve (contamination, carbon deposits, icing) - Check plug and wiring harness between intake- manifold pressure sensor and DME - Check plug, wiring harness at electric throttle- valve actuator - Replace pressure sensor - Replace throttle valve Source: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/attac...2&d=1317300396 So if its an O2 sensor I know what to do about it, if its a vacuum leak or throttle valve issue I'm kind've at a loss. Also I'm seeing if it was just bad gas that threw the code. The car had some old gas in it and hopefully it just burned incorrectly and should clear up after the next tank gets through. I'll keep you posted. |

Was anyone able to find out the true cause of the P112F code? I got it once on October 27th then again last night on 11/8. When i got the code the first time I was doing a pretty hard run in 5th gear and figured maybe with the hard pull something threw a code. Figured I would clear it and see if it appeared again. When I got he code last night i wasn't driving it hard at all. Any advise would be helpful, Pretty basic mods JB4, Intake, Chargepipe, OCC. Thanks!
