Wheel lock should be in the little compartment in your trunk on the right side. As for run flats, your call. I have CAA so a flat is no biggie. You can also carry a flat tire repair kit in your trunk too if you go the non run flat route.

I'm going to be in Oshawa tonight so can meet up and check the car as I head home around 10pm if that works for you.

I got the car this morning and it exceeded my expectations. I'm impressed. The previous owner obviously took really good care of the car. Also being from Kelowna, BC (the car) helps. I don't think it has seen any salt.
Drives amazingly. The transmission is very smoth. Have not tried the paddles yet. The power (torque) of the engine is addictive. Love the diesel.
But there were a few things amiss. The car came unplated of course as they don't have Ontario plates in Alberta, but it came with no brackets for the plates either. I called the dealer in Edmonton, where I bought the car and they said:"Oops, sorry, just go to a dealer in your area and they will give you the brackets." Really? Are these brackets such a commodity that BMW just gives them away? Well, I guess this it will be my first test at Endras in Ajax. I will look up Shant, introduce myself and see how that goes.
Also, I have not found my wheel lock either. I need to find it before by snows get here and need to be installed. So, do you guys recommend run flats for snows? Since we don't have a spare, there isn't much of a choice, I guess.
Anyway, the car is very clean including the engine bay. Hard to believe it is a diesel.

Cheers!

Lino
Definitely go with non run flats and get the tire repair kit like Greek suggested.

I'm going that route for my winters this year.

Next spring I'm gonna be riding on Michelin PSS.

Bad news...

Went fot an Ontario Safety, and they found a small crack on the windshield. Did not pass. Go to go fight with BWM in Edmonton. Wish me luck

Sorry tonight is not going to work for me. We'll try again next time.

I got the windshield sorted out with BMW in Edmonton. They were top notch. So tomorrow the plates go on (if I can get brackets from Endras).

Found my wheel lock too. Thanks for the tip Greek. It was in a tray which is part of the battery cover. The tray is the cover and the tray is covered in carpet, so it was well hidden. Anyway, glad I have. The guy at the safety shop was giving me a hard time, he wanted to remove the wheels to look at the pads.

Thanks for the moral support.

Ok. Why not run flats? Run flats are new to me, but it sounds appealing. Do they perform inferior to normal tires? Is the extra cost moving people away from them?
For example, TireRack has Alpine PA3 in run flat for: 229.00 and non run flat for: 184.00. So a difference of US $45.00 each tire. Not worth the exta cost? Is that it?
I also have CAA, but the convenience of keeping on going to where you have to be instead of waiting for CAA to tow you to where you don't want to go is appealing. After all my last set of Alpine snows have outlasted my previous car, so it would most likely be a only one time purchase.
Is there more about run flats I should know about? Heavier? Performance? Fuel consumption? More expensive to install?

Thanks
Lino

Run flats are heavier and will give you a bit more of a harsh ride. Your call in the end. My winters are run flats and my summers are Michelin Pilot SS.

Hmm, I still have the original Bridgestones runflats on and I do find them harsh.
I will try normal snows. I think I will pick up space saver for long trips and go with that.

Thanks

I honestly can't feel the difference. My summers are the OEM potenzas while my winters are Blizzaks non-RFT. Maybe it's because I'm used to the harsher ride of my previous car/e30.

Need some help installing LED AE

Hey folks,

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I'm looking for someone who can help me install a pair of LED AE for my 2010 328xi LCI - the passenger side appears simple, but the driver side seems to be harder to reach (my hands don't fit)

GTA - either Durham region or 401/Yonge area would be good. Anyone willing to lend a hand, pls email me at: rockblock2000@gmail.com

Thx in advance

I'm almost approaching 100,000kms and I want to do all the standard 'tune-up's to my e92 335i.

Apparently, there aren't any dealers where I live (Ottawa) that are familiar with the walnut blasting service. Does anyone know of a good dealer in Toronto to recommend to have this done and how much they charge?

Thanks!

How's this the wrong section? It's the official Toronto chat thread. I'm asking for advice on a Toronto BMW dealership that can provide the service I want since I don't believe it is done at any dealerships local to me. I am willing to drive 4 hours to have the service done.

If this is indeed the wrong section, please advise on the correct one.

Hi Folks:

Can anyone guide me how to get a vehicle history of all repair work done at dealership? I have tried couple of dealers but got brain dead SA's because I know I was able to get it for my ZHP without any issues.

I can provide the VIN number if someone can help.

Thanks!

Hi Guys.. need some advice here as I have just recently changed the Bridgestone RFT to Michelin PSS and not knowing if the same air pressure should be used on the new tires... can anyone please give me a hand letting me know the proper tire pressure to be used. TKS.

I'm quite positive that you always use the recommended air pressure on your door panel regardless of what tire you're using.
