And by the way, Oregon is still populated by heterosexuals in the majority - not that there's anything wrong with that. Come up with a better epithet. Or move back to Cali.

What do you mean "body colored plates"? Plate frames?

You know, it wouldn't be so bad if the BMW plate bracket were actually sized for US plates. Sticking a US plate on a JDM-sized bracket is irritating. I've been thinking about trying to saw down a plate bracket to eliminate the overhang but I'm lacking confidence in my plastic-working skills.

I recently got my first ticket for not having a license plate in the front (in 7 years of not having it lol). I got inspected, paid $10, as soon as I left the police building, I made a right into a gas station and took it off Only when I'm in Pasadena (Los Angeles County is very strict about this), I put my plate up on the passenger side of the dash. Been doing that for 3 months now, no tickets!

Skene for the Front...

...and the Bimmian body colored plate frame front and back. You can just use the Skene and forgo the plate frame, but I liked the look of the frame as it minimizes the plate by covering the bottom. Not as nice as no plate at all, but like I said, depending on how often you're pulled over, cheaper than tickets, no pullovers and no holes in the bumper if I want to remove.

Good heavens, 4 tickets in six months. Where do you live (in So Cal)? I live in Riverside (so cal) and I have never gotten any tickets for no front license plate.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I'm just curious, to all those who have gotten tickets how much was the fine? Mine was $35.

Thanks for the pic, cg! That clears it up. I'm going to go ahead and order just the Skene brackets for now.

I'm getting drop-darker-than-legal tint in a couple weeks and figure I'm tempting fate with the combo of both no front license and illegal tint.

In WA it is $120.00 if you get pulled over by a cop. I've never heard of getting a no plate ticket when parked.

I have been driving w/ no front plate in WA for over 15 years now and yet to get a ticket. I got couple of verbal warnings but that is it.

Good luck.
