Anyone seen this news thread?
http://www.reuters.com/article/oddly...1?feedType=RSS I am sick of living in a nanny state. What does everyone else feel? Why do we put up with this s**t? The French would be blockading the ports by now.

not wishing to cast my daily mail view too much but its typically of this new labour gov.. go and catch real criminals not me (got three point for doing 33 in a 30!) and while you are at it.. sort out all of the illegal scum with no tax and insurance on the roads.. (the crushing the car scheme is good but it has loopholes) they pose more of a risk to safety that anything. Apparently more people are killed a year with hosiptal type bugs than on the roads.. (dont get me erong i hate inappropriate speed - ie knobs driving like stirling moss outside schools and built up areas)
this gov is also obsessed with Co2 emissions.. when will they take into account no2 and other gasses etc like the US and when we use the cars etc. its all a big con - espically after watching the channel 4 prog. the great global warning swindle. i think this is a good country for bad people and a bad country for good people. if you have nothing to lose you're fine.. god i feel like victor meldrew - rant over |

The sad thing is, I don't think any of the other parties could do a better job. We're all doomed.

Politicians are the same - useless t%ss&^rs.
We don't have a democracy we have a partially selective dictoatorship. I never get to vote for the PM, or any members of the cabinet because the super toffs don't live around here, only sponging royalty and celebrities. Whoever you vote for from one of the main parties will just do whatever he's told and an independant will have a damned small say. Basically it's all bo*&ox. That said I'll go and throw my vote in with the other 15% of the population and refuse to give my number to the knobs on the door.

i agree too, all the parties and their policies seem to have merged into one, and they all seem useless. infact i want to see a politician (MP etc) to have a sense of humility and say sorry for failed manifestos and mistakes, (what am I saying! Reality check needed) that would get my vote. Having said that I would be awful politician, but I could get loads of votes by admitting to mistakes and I hate politics!
having said that i cant complain about quality of life here, just got back from three weeks in tobago and getting a e92 in a few weeks hehe |

charge per mile would be interesting.. we would be asking for refunds! the pot hole (or speed bump - same thing round my way!) that ruins your tyre and alloy could in theory be easier to reclaim damages for as we are purchasing a service that is not fit for purpose and entiled to a refund and compensation. i suspect 0% of my road tax goes on roads hence the name change to V.E.D - what a con

I think that most people will be pretty upset about paying to use roads that only get resurfaced on an average of every 75 years. All they need to do to cut CO2 emissions is to turn half the bl(^)dy traffic lights off. They save on electricity and traffic flows much more freely.
