I don't think he's posted anything about it yet. But supposedly the car pulls like a mutha now from the midrange on up where he's got the injection set to kick in. |

These autos have an advantage, not because of the shifting per se, but because of the 3.46 final drive ratio, instead of the manuals 3.08 And how fast the autos shifts. I didn't hear that Deck had any issues with the meth injection. I'll have to follow up with him. Later |

Finally got my filter delivered last night(at 9:30pm). Dropped it in this morning. Immediately noticed quicker throttle response compared to the OEM filter. Didnt really do any heavy boosting or high speed runs. Happy to know its in there though so thats enough for me.

Uh, no, its a replacement for the air filter thats IN the airbox on top of the engine. Youre thinking of the filter for the HVAC system. No need for a high performance one of those.

not true.....put a high performance filter in the HVAC, the air coming from the vents in the car blows harder so it feels like you are going faster

You do realize you said exactly the same thing I did right? That is what I meant though, the filter "IN" the airbox, which is why I said in.

No, you said charcoal filter. One must immediately assume you are talking about the HVAC filter. The OEM "air" filter is not a charcoal filter. The engine doesnt need fresher air to combust.

Just out of curiousity, for those who think the BMC is worth paying the $30-40 more than the K&N, what exactly do you guys think makes the BMC better? Does it not use the same cotton gauze weave that the K&N invented in 1969? Does it not use an oil to catch and filter particulars again, copying the K&N? There is a clear difference in type of filter between the ITG and K&N but please explain to me how you guys feel the BMC is superior to the K&N and worth spending 60% more for it? K&N started making these filters for offroad motorcycles, and even that BMC copied. BMC started 4 years later, also for motorcycles. K&N has been making these performance filters for cars shortly after they design these cotton gauze filters back in 1969. (I remember using them back in the mid-late 80's when I started driving) BMC just started making there copy for cars in 1991. Again, if the BMC is not just a copy of the K&N, somebody please explain to me how you think the BMC is better and can do a better job, considering they just used the knowledge and technology the K&N designed? 6 to one, half a dozen to another. I had the ITG filter before I got the BMC filter.

You paid 60% more for basically a copy filter. Why does F1 use BMC you ask? Paid marketing, and/or free donations would be my guess. BTW, there are dozens and dozens of race teams that use K&N, from Nascar to Dragsters, to Superbike, to you name it. That's great that BMC advertises f1 uses their filters. Ever stop to think of why they ONLY advertise F1 as being the race organization that uses their air filters?? Hint: paid endorsements, free advertisement, and because every other major race organization is using the K&N as the vast majority. There are so many more race teams that use K&N and have used K&N for decades it's not even funny. K&N has even has sponsor race teams for their filters, and yet the competition still used the K&N's, so you know they weren't getting paid for it. That's great that BMC has one race organization though. I just think it's funny how some of you think the BMC is superior and how you think it's so much different when in fact it's basically a direct copy of the K&N and they use the technology K&N invented and designed, that's all. |
