Another run flat thread........

Hi guys Im after 2 rear runlflat tyres for my 320d m sport currency the tyres are bridgestone run flats 255/35WR18
but I'm shocked at the price of them £280 each is the cheapest I've found themWhat over brand would you recommend I'm dead against ditch finders.
I've been told that I can only put run flats on my alloys is this true

Unless you have some fancy rims the OEM is an EH2 form (Extended Hump) rim, this assists the RFT retention while running zero pressure. You can fit conventional tyres on EH2 rims. If you want to check it out, visit a few tyre manufacturer's technical references and they will state that in print.

It's stated in the Q&A sections of some sites, Pirelli being one, if I remember correctly.

I recently purchased csl reps and had the bridgestone runflats transferred from my mv3s to the reps. Highland Petes comments about OEM rims being an EH2 form has me concerned. OK you can fit conventional tyres on EH2 rims, but can you expect runflats to offer the same safety margins on standard rep rims? Thanks in advance.

It's not all that difficult to do a quick 'google' search. Highland Pete gave you a clue where to look; check FAQ's 1 & 2 here: http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/gb/en/ca...ll_about_tyres

As Jon has pointed out, the EH2/H2 rim question is specifically answered on the Pirelli site.

Note the limitation of the H2 rim section. Hence why the EH2 rim is used to retain the tyre safely, down to zero pressure.
