wow that's AWESOME. so glad to see such promising results. really makes me proud (and pumped) to be an N54 owner. I'll be holdin on to this baby for a while. is there xi compatibility? mad mad props shiv.

and excuse my ignorance, but does a flat torque curve translate into linear acceleration? like will it be a smooth, even delivery or will it be that more thrilling, suddenly getting thrown back, blast-off kinda feeling

The first one. The second one happens when you push a turbo hard and it can't keep up on the top end. If Shiv turns the boost up far enough even this turbo will do that, but it's big enough that something else will probably break first. That's why the Supra is such a legend, because people just kept turning it up into the total insanity range and it seldom broke. If Shiv gets past 30psi and still hasn't broke his stock motor people will start to feel the same way about this motor. Stranger things have happened, but I'm not holding my breath.

Nope. Procede will stay unchanged for the foreseeable future. I honestly don't know what more it needs. It's more functional that 3 other tunes stacked on top of each other

EHH. it not that the turbo cant keep up. in fact the things I highlighted are in contradiction of each other. It gives you that kick in the pants feeling because that larger tubo takes longer to build boost. When it does =Rocket. The supra has no problem on the top end with a large single, but feels like a prius before 5k, somtimes higher.
After seeing the progress on this platform I have no regrets putting my supra up for sale.

Just amazing work here. You know the various car magazines are going to go nuts when this is ready to show them. The first Procede review I read back in 07 or whatever is what got me to eventually buy a 335 instead of an M3 (the potential for turbo tuning).

Game changer for sure, old beat up e92 + 10-15k in mods (or whatever) running with Z06's 911TT's, and modded GTR's. Are you kidding?

What extra power? Are you looking at the peak power only?

Shiv has less power under the curve. He should really boost it up at least from 4k up to 7k. That would make wonders for the 60-130.

The power below 4k cannot be enhanced that much, but below 4k matters for daily driving and not for 60-130 anyways.

Shiv stop talking about keeping the torque at the pathetic level. Mr.5 had a lot more torque than you currently and he was running stock turbos and ACT street clutch.

The crankshaft design also has a lot to do with the physical rev limit of the engine. A long straight six crank develops high torsional vibration, which is why the vibration damper is there. Even the stock S54 crank will destroy the vibration damper with only a few trips past 8200RPM. PTG ran cooling ducts to the damper on their E36 (S50Euro) and E46 (S54) IMSA/World Challenge cars (before the V8). When the E46 M3 was in Grand Am, engineers would look at the data and scrap the damper after 5-6 over-revs of 8200+. They told me that they had seen too many damper failures, and it's due to the crankshaft not being able to handle the revs, which takes its toll on the damper.

Additionally, S52 3.2L and M54 3.0L engines break oil pump shafts at higher revs. It's all about the crankshaft torsional vibrations. So I'd do some testing before arbitrarily raising the rev limit.

When the S54 first came out, even stock motors were breaking crankshafts. They had pushed the stock rev limit from 7200 (s52) to 8000. There is a modal resonance very near there for a straight 6 crankshaft. BMW finally extended warranty on early s54 to 100k I believe and replaced a lot of crankshafts and main bearings.

Anyway I agree pushing rev limits esp on straight 6 with more than 2X stock HP is NOT advised.

Shiv...it just dawned on me that this setup is probably lighter than the stock setup. Do you know how much lighter the single is than the twins?

Cast iron is HEAVY, and there is 2 turbine sides. Plus add in the stock cats to the mix and it goes up even more I'm sure.
