I highly doubt it's cost cutting; fog lights are cheap, relatively speaking.

I'm curious to know if it doesn't have anything to do with the addition of the secondary, smaller, radiator/cooler.
IMO, it'd make perfect sense to remove the foglights and adjust the ducts to funnel air to the brakes/cooler concurrently.

No MT? That's pretty sad since the car is an "iS" model.

Humble opinion of mine? Pre-LCI E92 is evident of a classic timeless design.. I'm not too worried. BMW did it right.
I figured there was no MT option because the performance kit did not add a whole lot to the torque of the MT? It would look weak from a torque perspective when the numbers are right next to the auto.

Logically, I'd find it hard to believe they wouldn't offer a manual transmission; primarily based on the cost that they'd have to build into the price of the car.

The step transmission is a $1,3xx option (if I remember correctly) +$100 or so for the paddle shifters. They'd need to build in at least $800-1000 additionally into base cost of the car to compensate for the lack of the manual transmission option. This only brings the base price of the car that much higher up, before all the options.

As a side note, what kind of enthusiast car comes in automatic only?

Then why would they leave the fog lights on the heavier convertible? The front ends of both cars are exactly the same, right? Either way, we still haven't seen official real life BMW photos, so we don't really know anything for certain at this point.

I agree as we haven't seen the real life photos of the 335iS.

I was thinking about the vert with fogs as well. The only idea I could really conjure up, somewhat contradictory to my previous post, but was to give the vert the "loaded up" look.

The vert will be more expensive than the coupe, as we could all expect. I don't really imagine a lot of vert owners really "racing" their 335s around as much as I would a coupe owner, but hey I could be wrong...

it looks like i stand corrected ... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=1#post6580301

this NEEDS to be straightened out though - other people have quoted only AT and DCT as tranny options

But, based on BMW NA press release, it seems the hood is new. I assme the lenght of the hood is now the same length as the M3's.

Alos, the LCI coupe is longer the the pre LCI which confirms thier statment.

From BMW NA press release:
It all begins with proportions. The new, long hood powerfully symbolizes BMW's loyalty to the inherently balanced inline-6 engine. The long wheelbase, short overhangs

With that price might as well fork up the extra cash and get an M3

I think it makes perfect sense. Out of the E90/91/92/93, the one that is realistically going to see the most real track use is the E92. You don't buy an E93 for real track work (maybe just for the hell of it, but definitely not for competitive track driving--the weight penalty alone wouldn't be worth it). Same with the sedan and wagon. And if they're trying to get more cooling to the brakes, the current design is plenty ample for street use. But at a track you can never have enough brake cooling. So I imagine it's a nod to those who would probably drive the E92 harder and faster than any of the other models.

I know of many sedan competitive track cars out there. e90 being one of them. The e92 and e90 weigh almost identical. The coupe doors have to make up for the loss of the B pillar which the e90s have.

From the BMW website:

e90: 3593lbs
e92: 3571lbs

If anything I find it odd they added the e93, but there are people who like the verts.

when i say not for 2011, i can't predict the future nor does anybody know what's in store for 2012... as it is, the 6MT when you get the performance upgrade gets "dummied down" horse and torque from the auto versions... this is no different, hence the DCT being added... i know, it sucks, believe you me, but nothing we can do...
wow i guess i wasnt wrong afterall!!!!!!!! there is a 6mt......i knew there had to be one. guess it isnt the end of discussion huh

Like it alot. Just 2 things I hate, black mirrors = cheap. And the scolloped out bottom edge of the headlights = hideous. They have lost the agressive, squinty eyes.
