Don't know what and where you been...but old firm clashes are almost non existent these days! Besides, never heard them looting businesses or damaging people's homes as a result of their clashes.

Bit out of date Zurich mate...

p.s Just read that ACPOS are sending 250 riot police to help.

Must admit, it has been many years since I was in Glasgow, but did witness one hell of a running battle between rangers and Celtic fans, yes there wer some broken windows but can't say if anyone took advantage of this.

Is this now a pass the buck thread?

I sympathise with the problems going on in England at the moment, but the need to suddenly make poor comments and try and pull Scotland down are tasteless and unfounded.

I don't remember dishing it out in here?

I didn't take the posts as too humourious as there was a few people beginning to take cheap shots at Scotland rather than focus on the topic in hand.

Nobody was taking issues with England's troubles, just showing the same feelings as the English themselves.

A few posts read to me as passing the buck but one of the posters has now said it was humour from him.

I think a few people are missing the issue on this thread we are looking at mindless scum destroying the fabric of our society. A bit of humor and banter yes but lets make that light and not go and focus on the issue of scum who may well have changed how everyone will live their lives from now on. The fact that insurers will be paying out millions will impact on everyone. Thousands may well loose their jobs more drain on the public purse. The costs of policing which will be more than anyone can imagine will reducing policing in every part of the UK for years to come. The image of the UK which will deter investment, tourism and general trading on the stock exchange. Remember how pensions work!!!!
the money the government will payout in compensation and re investment in these communities come form the tax payers and are diverted from front line services.
Sorry for airing off.

It must be hard for the police to control themselves in the circumstances and now this video has appeared.

Lets just hope that's the right people they have got and the officers can't be traced back.

What I meant was you seem to be a humorous guy and the posts were I'm sure in jest. Well that's how I read them anyway.

No offence was intended.

So how do these poor Sods, who have had riot damage get on with insurance. Every policy I've ever read excluded riot and war damage. Although last night the insurance Association are banging on about how much it will cost them.

That was my thinking as well but when I have just now pulled out my home insurance policy is clearly states that damage from riot and civil disturbance IS covered.

Maybe policies USED to not cover this and there was a change somewhere along the way

Bet no one gets charged with riot only violent disorder as the Police Authority will be responsible for the cost of the damage.
