Running AA BOV on stock?

Hey guys,

Can someone clarify that running an active autowerke BOV on a stock 335i would work without any problems or damage to the car? Not thinking of remapping the car as of yet.

Cheers

Why do you want to run a BOV on stock car..just sounds like your risking creating boost leaks for nothing...

It will work fine. The reason people are broken hearted is because the purpose of a BOV is to hold higher boost levels as the stock DV tend to leak, so without the higher boost levels its pretty pointless to have one.

Hey I understand what you mean, because I was told this;

Quote:
you really need to map the car to allow for it.
What happens with the oem vales is the air is piped back into the intake tract.
So when you lift, and they blow, a huge slug of air pressure gets plonked into the intake.
The cars fuelling allows for this.
If you remove that air, and dump-to-atmosphere with a BOV, then the car doesnt know and shoves a wedge of fuel in but without the air.
So you get a slug of unburned fuel - hence the pops/bangs/damage to cats etc etc.
Is this right ^^?

No. We do not use a MAF.. recirculated or not, it makes no difference.
