they look decent quality versus price and they are not asian/chinese imports either.

Will find out tomorrow hopefully. Had a call from shipping company in Italy to say they had a pallet delivery and would I be in tomorrow. I confirmed and they said they will be with me between 9 and 5!

if he has comfort access he can already raise the roof using his keyfob - a standard model can only lower the roof using the keyfob.

Just to add the SmartTop allows one touch operation of the switch inside, no need to hold switch till roof operation is complete. Same goes for remote once roof starts to move you can release remote get in/out of the car turn ignition on or off and the roof will continue with its cycle. It also has other functions of auto open close of windows from the remote, one touch all windows up from the inside switch and folding of the wing mirrors.

smartTOP w/o comfort access?

Hi Everyone,

could anyone confirm that adding a smartTOP module to a e93 w/o comfort access can enable the remote to raise the RHT to "comfort loading" position?

thanks

And can anyone confirm that an e93 with Comfort Access has the ability to auto fold the mirrors? In other words, if I have Comfort Access, the only benefit of Smarttop would be the one-touch function of opening and closing the roof?

I have the SmartTop fitted without CA and can confirm that the comfort loading works by double click boot open on the remote.

As far as I am aware No E93 has the ability to auto fold mirrors, manual only. I can speak for the SmartTop, allows you to start roof operation and still get in car put ignition on and start engine by this time roof is fully open or closed ready to drive awayo keeping finger on switch.

I think another benefit would be to allow operation of the RHT when the car is moving

and thanks GreatBM for the confirmation =)

hi chaps, i'm an e93 owner but haven't had much time to post (YET!). Was there ever any progress on the group buy ?

To be honest, i was thinking about selling mine but after last weekend have decided i'll keep it. mods in the pipeline are
- Smarttop (as above!)
- Power upgrade + Perf exhaust.
- audio upgrade

Anyway, seriously interested in the smarttop - does anyone have the link to the UK/european distributer's site ? Also has anyone tried opening/closing the roof at >20mph ?

I wouldnt recommend opening/closing while your driving due to it being a hard top as it will ruin the allignment of your roof and will eventually cause it to leak! Only best doing that with soft tops

The only advantage I can see for the Smarttop is the one-touch opening and closing... saves keeping your finger pressed for 22seconds on the keyfob,... not really worth £200+ is it.
