Front sway or front control arm kit?

Looking for some help in deciding whether to get the M3 front sway bar kit or the M3 front control arm kit (or both). The purpose is to reduce understeer at the track. I'm reasonable good with smoothness and keeping steering inputs slow.

The car's suspension is stock.

So far as research goes, I've read that the negative camber that the M3 control arms add will have the most desirable effect.

Any thoughts or opinions?

Simple rule of thumb: Tires > Alignment > Springs > Dampers > Brakes > Anti-roll bars when it comes to the impact each component has with regards to lap time and handling.

The M3 control arms add camber, which is part of alignment.

+1 on the M3 control arms. As they also have stiffer bushings, the steering response will be improved as well.

As the Hack says, sway bars are really the last thing you should worry about. In any case, the front sway of the M3 is not so much different from the 335i sway, the biggest difference will be the rear sway bar as it is much thicker and will noticeably reduce understeer (but also decrease traction).

Front and rear control arms are very easy to install and cheap for the improvement they effect.

Great help guys. Much appreciated. Now to decide whether to just do the front or front and rear guides and wishbones.

I recently had the front control arms replaced with M3 pieces. The steering feedback and additional neg camber really improved handling! I agree this would be a better choice for handling unless you're still driving on rft's, then it might feel pretty harsh as the M3 arms have much stiffer bushings/bearings.

Was thinking about this too. Settled on oem performance shocks, eibach pro springs, m3 front control arms and michelin pilot super sports for my suspensionl upgrade next year.

Unless I was taking corners at high speeds regularly, I decided sway upgrade wasnt worth it.

Currently on oem sports suspension with rfts. Cant wait to feel the difference.

My adding negative camber, how much more uneven tire wear are we talking about vs stock setup on a sport suspension?

Do them both. The M3 tension and wishbones. AND do the Front M3 sway. Now admittedly the front DINAN sway I did in stage 3 Dinan suspension was matched to my springs shocks...

BUT if you are going to do the front, do the M3 route on both arms and the sway. then you will match the rear shortly after with the M3 subframe bushings and the rear M3 control armS.

the car is way nicer in handling and feels so much better.

Hey HACK, how come this OP didn't get the driver lesson 101 on understeer?

I am experiencing hardly any. I have Dinan camber plates and the M3 wishbones. Prob over neg 1.2 in camber and I have no inside wear.

The rears are absolutely toast though..... I am hoping the LSD will fix that now, but with all the torque, prob not.....
