BMW Performance Exhaust, N52
I don't think I've ever been so excited about a mod before! I'll post more pictures when it's on the car.

the BMW PE comes with a mid-pipe?!?! Can the mid-pipe be purchased separately? Looks great!

I thought I got a great deal to begin when I was under the impression that I had only purchased a muffler -- so you can imagine my joy when the I found the mid-pipes waiting for me underneath the packing cardboard! Thanks, Raja! Install was completed weeks ago (thanks, Clem!) but I've been slacking on the pictures! I'll try to get some up soon as well as a video -- this thing sounds absolutely awesome. I honestly couldn't imagine a more heavenly exhaust note coming from our N52s. If you're on the fence about putting a PE on your car, do it!

No, and to be honest the benefits of the Performance Exhaust are almost purely aesthetic. The performance gains for N52 bolt-ons in general are so negligible compared to their FI counterparts that I can't see the sense in adding any other "performance mods". At the end of the day I bought the PE because it sounds fucking sweet, haha.
That being said, if I wasn't in a 330 the 3-stage intake manifold conversion would be a must. Here are a few (bad) pictures I found browsing through my phone: Annnnd one of my brother's 135is for good measure Last edited by brinkmann; 10-28-2013 at 10:03 AM.. |

I also think people's claims about a "break-in period" are true. The exhaust became noticeably louder after it had been on a few lengthy highway trips that totaled a few hundred miles. I'll try to get a good video posted but unfortunately I won't be able to give you an accurate before & after comparison (though those comparison videos are definitely on youtube if you look hard enough).

I like my N52 Performance Exhaust. I have the BMS Powerbox tune as well, and the combo makes the car much more enjoyable to drive.
