Seems like it would be cheaper just to buy a 335 but what do I know.

Not if your 330i is paid off.

A fully loaded 2006 330i has a suggested retail value of just over $14,000 with 110,000 miles.
A fully loaded 2008 335i has a suggested retail value of just over $18,000 with 91,000 miles.
Sales tax on purchasing an $18,000 vehicle would be just over $1,700. That puts us at a price difference of $5,700 for a two year newer car with 45 more hp and 80 more torque.
Jb4 with an intake and downpipes will net you another 100hp for $1,000. We could also consider how much more reliable a motor made for fi is and that you will save money not blowing the motor up. We could also factor in how much more difficult it is to sell a car for over $15,000 versus selling one for under, bringing the price gap even closer; and furthermore how much money one would lose attempting to sell a s/c 330i, but I digress.

that supercharger wont be cheap, you are better off getting a 335 and being at that power stock with MORE potential.

4500 for stage 1.

I got my 2006 330i 115k for 10k(6sp,navigation,heated seats, sports suspension and wheels).

Everyone argument always comes back to get a 335i, 265-275whp would be fun enough for me, and not having to replace 2 turbos sounds fun to me as well.

There's also something to be said for throttle response... Which is candidly a weak point of the n54 IMHO.

Well I was tossing this out to the locals who have a N52, just letting them know this is about to be an option if they wanted more hp and tq.

Looks to be on par with a stock (good condition) E46 M3. Intriguing but expensive

Its not even making 300 whp?

I see the appeal but dang... the power isn't what I'd hope for after that kind of money being spent.

You'd have to spend a lot more to get to that 300hp mark. eg headers, tune, manifold, exhausts, and then the supercharger.
