09 335xi 19" offset limits and tire sizes

hey guys i am new to the board i just picked up my car about 2 months ago im planning on getting 19" corse lineas lm22 off my buddy but i just want to make sure as i was reading that theirs issues with the xi and 19"s if not purchase correctly.

the setup is as follows

235/35/19 front
265/30/19 rear

offset the guy told me is

30front
37rear

but he is not 100% sure but they are coming off his 07 328I

if someone can confirm this it would be great as i searched and some people say the tire sizes are safe some say they arent

thank you

Perfect match would've been 275 in the back. A lot of people are using 235/265 front/rear. No one really knows the tolerances of the xi system - all this talk about being 1% difference in diameter is just conjecture. Somebody read somewhere about this 1% rule about another car and suddenly it has become the rule of thumb for BMWs.

As far as I know, no one has really reported any problems on this forum with a 235/265 setup.

For offset, rim width is a factor too. In any event, I'm pretty sure the linea corse rims are just fine for BMWs. Go to the wheeldude's site and check out the specs. I think Linea only makes one set of offsets for our 3 series...

We generally do 235/265 combo's for Xi guys and they have not had any problems. Just be sure to stay with a 35 front and 30 rear profile if you decide to go 19's.

What about 40mm all around

I am looking at some 19" 220 replicas--they are 8.5 x 40 front and 9.5x 40 rear. I understand that the rear wheels will look a bit tucked in, but by how much? Does anyone have pictures of this setup? I don't want to add spacers if I can help it. What is the ideal offset for a staggered wheel setup on an XI?

Thanks.

I have coupe with 8.5x19 et40 front and 9.5x19 et40 rear with 235/35 front tires and 275/30 rear. tires were tucked, I added 12mm spacer in front and 15mm rear for more aggresive look . front tires are flush rear sticks out slightly.

Coupe or sedan? The sedan has more room to play with. I think your offsets are reversed.

i have vmr v710's on my xi. I am running 33 235/35/19 and 35 275/30/19 in the rear. Absolutely love it. Rear wheel could be a bit more flush, but that would require rolling your fenders....m3 offsets

Pictures

Can we see some pictures of the 19" wheels with offset stated?

I was thinking out getting 19" 220m replicas that are JWL VIA certified from an alloy dealer, but I am scared of the quality being much worse than OEM. I am now leaning towards going with some new 18" OEM style 189 (come on 335s with sport package) for now as I can get a get an awesome deal on them through my buddy ($700) brand new with runflats.

However, I am thinking that I will regret not getting the 19s in the 220 style that I love...even though it is a gamble.

To the OP- Unless you are tracking your vehicle or doing some real serious motoring, it doesn't really matter. BMW vehicle dynamics team decide what type of combo is suited best to everyone. This includes all ages and locations around the globe. A combination of steering response (ie over/understeer), vibrations, noise, harsh ride etc...What they decide might not be what you like.

Wheel size does play an important role, but pay close attention to tire choice as well.

Sorry at school at the moment with no camera. But 235 on et35 in the front sits flush and et33 on 275s in the back is presentable as well. Just a tad more its almost to the fender
