Nick's 6 Speed Sedan Build Thread
Hi everyone,
My name is Nick, I'm a long time BMW enthusiast and car guy. I wanted to make a quick thread to introduce myself because the time has finally come to join the 335 ranks. I'm leaving for the air port in a few minutes to board a flight to Seattle to bring home a 2007 335i sedan! I've had a really crazy two weeks which luckily brought my to this car. Starting about two months ago I had a guy feeling, which told me to sell my second car and daily driver- an incredible 1986 325e. Fast forward to early last week when I found a one owner 335 sedan for sale and the wheels started grinding into motion. I made a quick and dirty craigslist ad for my 97 M3 and figured that if it sold quick enough I would have enough money to jump on this new car I had just become infatuated with. I knew I was going to be buying a new car in the coming 6 months to a year. I have had a crush on the E39 M5 and the E90 335i since they were new. I figured I'd just fall in love with the "right" one whenever I came across it. Of course I spend a lot of time on the forums, CL and autotrader... just for fun. The transaction to buy this 335 could have been easy but I had two big problems- First, the car was located in Seattle but I live in Southern Oregon. Second, it happened to be the week of my wedding! My wife wasn't exactly as thrilled as I was about buying a new toy in the days coming to the wedding. Haha! Eventually though she caved and agreed that it was really important to me and that we could afford it. Soooo I got the green light from her. Back to reality and, well, you probably guessed it - the M3 sold, and fast! I got a hit in the first couple hours it was on craigslist and sold it the following morning! Ha! That was my baby and weekend car for the past 6 years. I could go on and on about that car because I loved it so much but it enabled me to make a move on the new princess. The next set of problems - I was crunched for time dealing with the wedding (which was incredible!) and had zero chance to pick the car up, which was 7 hours away, I hadn't seen it let alone driven it, and after the wedding we were promptly headed to Mexico for a long week of relaxation. So long story semi-short (if you haven't picked up on it) I had a lot of details to work out being that I agreed to buy the car sight unseen 450 miles away with a insecure wire transfer, then had to figure out how to store it for two weeks while I was on my honeymoon. Insane from my point of view! In the end all worked out very well! . .. ... I'll update this thread later today when I have a chance - I gotta get on a flight! (check the time of post) Thanks for reading- ill post tons of pics ASAP I'll continue to update this thread with pictures and stories about things I do to the car. Thanks for reading.

Simmer down man, your getting me excited!!
Congrats on the new car and wedding. Once you've settled in with the N54, consider an OFT flash. It amplifies the power output but retains the stock drivability. |

Ok well I made it home safe and sound with no tickets! Which was a little bit of a surprise because the car was begging for the go-pedal all day. If I didn't have cruise control on I would have just kept accelerating. The instant power is so addictive!
The specs! 2007 6 speed Monaco on Terra Sport Premium Cold weather Nav Logic 7 iPod hookup I picked it up from the original owner who kept the car in fantastic condition. The interior is flawless aside from a corner of steering wheel trim starting to flake off. I couldn't be happier with the car so far. It's exactly what I was looking for and this seems to be a good example. I don't have any real plans for the car aside from a drop, wheels, tune and exhaust. I hope to just enjoy it for a while and learn more about the car.

Very nice! I flew out and drove 14 hours home to get my 2007 335. I looked for months to be able to get a 6 speed with every package except cold weather. Leather looks great now it just needs less chrome on that front end

Nice story and congrats on the car. Keep in mind your new wife didn't agree to the car deal out of the goodness of her heart. As the Godfather told the undertaker "Someday - and that day may never come - I will ask you to repay this favor"

Monaco! ^
I swear this car has 20,000 miles on it. The dash says otherwise, I know, it's still so tight though. Like its one solid piece! I freakin love it!

Today I got the car registered and the tripped over to my mechanics place to get it up on the lift for a quick inspection. Of course, it has a clean bill of health and Matt my tech loved it.
I took the opportunity to unplug the exhaust flap. It didn't really sound any different but hey it's just one of those things. As I understand the flap is only closed during idle. Is that right?
