320 ci and cd mpg?
Any idea about mpg consumption on e46? Looking at 320ci and 320cd.
Wife had a 318ci and it was averaging 30mpg. I appreciate 320cd will do more, but how much more? And finally, if anyone has Audi tt mk1 180bhp mpg figures that would be handy. Honestjohn website only does current vehicles. Thanks, Alex |

The 320ci is a 6 pot, it does the same as the 330ci but a lot less power.
Both will do around 25mpg. The 320cd is a 4 pot diesel, in manual guise 45mpg, in auto around 35mpg. |

Thanks, did not know the 2.0 was 6 cylinder.
Fuel economy looks similar for a 2.0 e46 and 180 TT. My wife had a 318 e46 convertible but I found it abit gutless. So unsure if I want to go back to it but a coupe version. |

Got a e46 318ci (the 2 litre, 4 cylinder one), get roughly 28 ish.
the 320 is a little less. The 320d manual your roughly looking at 40-45. Higher on the motorway. go for this mate. |

the only thing I would suggest is if u go for 320D is get swirl flaps sorted and get turbo checked. If it hunts when idling its a sure sign of swirl flaps issue so I've heard.
Saying that mine did 66k at point I sold it and generally was trouble free probably more free than my e90. Still miss it

When I mean hunts while idlling the revs keep bouncing up and down on their own. Not talking a little blilp while idling
It generally would be a significant change in regv by hundreds of rpm. Last one I saw would change as much as 500 rpm difference plus
