Can you detail why the extended warranty does not cover this?

I replaced mine recently. The part is less than $100 and I did the work myself. If you know how to remove the intake/airbox, this is a piece of cake.
Here's the part information |

it was like 15-20 minutes. All you have to do is remove the cowl, remove the airbox, unplug the cable and unclip the old valve, and then install the new one and reinstall the airbox and cowl.
The clip on the valve is pretty tight, so be careful not to break it. |

Yep. The valve sits under the manifold toward the firewall. There is a 1/2" plastic tube that goes forward into the throttle and a hose that comes up from the frame rail. Piece of cake. Do not pay $500 if you are able to do your own work. This is a 1 beer job at worst.

okay so I replaced the fuel tank vent valve which is what bmw told me was bad on the car. I'm driving it and the check engine light is still on in the car is still not running up to performance. it feels like it's not a twin turbo it drives fine but there's not the power like there should be. exactly how it felt before I replaced this part. Does is take some time to reset or how do I clear the code?

For any DIYer, you should get the BT tool to check and clear codes. These modern cars have so many modules and adaptations that you may just need to clear it out.

I am needing to change this part out on my 328i and I'm hoping it's as accessible on my vehicle as it was on the 335i. I originally was under the impression that the left front tire and fender liner had to be removed for access to the fuel vent valve.

Looks like the N51/N52 engines have it under the intake manifold mounted to either a wire harness block or the engine block. You will have to remove the intake manifold to get to it. The ETK doesn't show where it is, but the WDS does.

Hi All,
My first time DIY project on the 2010 BMW 328xi. I have the 'service engine soon' warning. Started with close gas cap. But now, after refueling, car struggles to start. It goes through multiple cycles to get the car started. Sounds really terrible. Happens only when the car is refueled. Otherwise, have no problem starting the car rest of the times. Got it checked with dealer. Dealer is saying to replace fuel ventilation system and quoted me $500 plus to fix it. Bought the purge control valve to replace it myself. I have used the instructions found on this forum and thread to replace the purge control valve. I was able to remove the air intake box, remove the air duct and move the power steering box out of the way. I was able to locate the purge control valve at the bottom. I can get access to the wiring plug at the back and the hose on the side. I am able to trace the third hose that is going all the way towards the engine, but can't get access to it. Very difficult to put my hands inside that gap to pull the tabs and remove it. If I manage to remove it, my concern is how will I connect the hose back because of access issues. Am I missing something with respect to removing some other part to gain access to it or is there any better way to do this. Any suggestions would be really appreciated. |

[QUOTE=robmoe;12357597]Hi guys! Do you mind providing extra guidance. I drive a 2006 e90 325i. I can not find the vent valve. What is the cowl?
Hey I'm sorry for bringing such an old post up but did you ever figure out how to get to it? I have the same issue on the same car |
