Tire / Wheel Insurance Question

Yes there's been many threads on this one.

I have purchased the 3 year wheel and tire insurance from BMW (which is managed by Safe-Guard) for $900 when I picked up my car. Wondering if I should keep this or just file a claim through Allstate. BMW has an unlimited number of tires and wheels and no caps on reimbursement per tire or wheel.

Currently I have $0 deductible (Safe Driver discount) with Allstate - but it can jump up to $500 if I have an accident.

I called Safe-Guard to confirm that they will cover any tires and wheels on the car at the time of incident (I am thinking of switching out the wheels but also thinking about the winter tire wheel setup).

What has your experience been with filing claims through BMW / Safe-guard or using your own car insurance?

Can anyone tell me about your experience with filing claims through BMW / Safe-guard? Are you able to have any OEM tires and wheels replaced even though they were not the same ones on the car at time of delivery or purchase?

Mine covers my aftermarket 20 inch wheels. They covered my flats :-) also covered my oem wheels. The policy has changed though to the orginal wheels/tires. I bought it back in 2005 and they cover any wheels/tire. But they will cover anything from a bend( tire must not hold air) to a flat tire.

I always pass on this and all the extra junk offered. Of all the stuff they try to suck you into, I'll agree this one makes the most sense. However, I'd rather deal with a problem my way when/if it happens.
