That's pretty awesome! Tempting to say the least.

I just had a cop give me a ticket because he felt that as I turned into a gas station while he was coming in the opposite direction, that I was too close to him....

His exact words to me "You can do that all day long...but not when I'm coming" lol....ooook... completely legal turn, he was just being an ass. Sorry I went off topic.

Anyhow, GET IT!! I want to see this in action

I have a court appearance tomorrow morning to fight a ticket. Can't wait.

You will need to use the Valentine V1 with that mirror, which is a detectable radar detector. It's a good detector but you risk being sniffed out by OPP if they are running a spectre unit. I very much doubt marked city patrol cars have these installed, or even undercover cars but you run the risk non the less. I suggest you pick up a Bel Sti Magnum or other undetectable RD and have it hardwired up higher above the rear view mirror out of sight. Having an RD is a useful tool but laser is a bigger threat nowadays.

Cops use laser guns, you're probably thinking of the radar detecting spectre unit installed on some police vehicles. Radar works in waves, laser is a beam shot at an object. Most speed traps now use laser guns which give an immediate speed display to the officer, your radar detector will only inform you that you've just been hit by laser in this case.

little expensive don't know if i can do it right now with Christmas around the corner. might look a little bad if i only buy myself something lol.

so far what i've found out is 1599 will get you the system beltronics stir and the mirror piece . +300 if you want him to send you a mirror to use.

or 499.00 if you send him the system you want plus the mirror piece and your mirror. (buy everything yourself basically)

I have to admit this is very very tempting. but may need to wait a month after Christmas to do it. I'm going to check with my friend who does a lot of customization for cars in importfest to see if he is familiar with doing this.

The V1 still probably has the best range for radar, but people state that the detector is due for an update.

The 9500ci might have a slight edge in performance.

The 9500ix is detectable. If you want the GPS features of the Escort line and want to remain undetectable then get the 9500ci as it's pretty much the best RD on the market. Don't get hung up on visual displays for radar warning, a good ramp up in sound is more than enough. The V1 and mirror is a nice setup, but I'd put that money towards the 9500ci and have stealth, better performance and gps features.

Also, don't think you can drive around with impunity because you have an RD especially in the city. I found most patrol cars don't use radar at all, they prefer laser when parked. OPP still uses K band radar outside of the city, but on the 401 they will be using laser if they are parked on the side of the road. If they are moving with traffic they may use radar. If they are smart they will have it off until they see you and hit you with instant on.. not much warning in these situations.

Anyways, in the several years that I've been running mine it's only saved me a few times and that's been on rural roads with OPP. The best counter-measure is paying attention. Look at your mirrors all the time, let off the throttle and look ahead on curves or when going downhill, be careful passing on ramps as they like to sit up there and shoot laser at your rear as you pass by.

Beltronics STi-R Plus is another good choice as well. Escort and Beltronics are the same company.

I've ordered from this site over the years, never had any problems: http://www.kmph.ca/
