Anybody have experience with this Ohlins ?
Hi,
I go to Ohlins website today, and see that they have this Ohlins new website for their Road and Track used line: http://www.roadandtrackbyohlins.com/en/product-range/ and I see they have application for E90, and it is in stock, and I think the ordinary E90 and the M3 Sedan should be the same,... so I try to look around for price of the kits, and so far only find this single website who listed the price at $2,349 http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/part...vers/DFV/16388 I was expecting much higher price than $2,349 for Ohlins coilovers kits, but from the picture of it, this kits is NOT the same as some custom kit made for M3 application which use the racing shocks... I guess this is more of a entry line kit equal to PSS10 or KW3... anyway, have anybody ever use this Road and Track line from Ohlins ? any review please ? and is there anybody here that use custom Ohlins kits that use the higher end Ohlins struts and shock absorber, I am talking about the Ohlins that equal to the most expensive Motons... if some of you use this high end Ohlins kits, may I know where you buy them from, and how much is their cost ? and are they durable enough for daily driving too, and are they still comfortable enough for daily driving ? Thanks |

I expect that the Ohlins Road and Track is similar to the Moton Street Sport kit. If anyone has them, they'll be on Mazda's, Mitsubishi's and Subaru's, so check out those online forums for reviews. |

Over the years I've bought tons of Ohlins bike parts including TTX shocks and R&T forks, just fantastic suspension for the money. Really looking forward to seeing this kit. |

What I know so far:
-Single adjustable (rebound & compression, 30 clicks?) -Front height adjustable via 1) spring preload, and 2) strut body length change -Dual Flow Valve Technology -Camber plates (likely) -Rebuildable/Revalveable -Made in Japan Will post more when I know. A few pictures on other applications: Last edited by rzm3; 01-25-2010 at 11:47 PM.. |

That is a bargain price for Ohlins coilovers, I purchased a set of Ohlins fixed perch struts for my other car and they were $2100 , then add springs, camber plates on top
P.S. Love Öhlins stuff and my struts did have 25 clicks of rebound adjustment |

Looking at their product catalogue, they seem to have really gotten into the JDM market.

They have been resolved and the new kits should be shipping in a month or so.
New market for Moton.

What about those external reservoir, dual-adj. struts/shocks they have for the e92m3 GT4?? Can we put some camber plates, rear shock mounts and spring perches and use them on our cars?? |

Not exactly how expensive, but when I was talking to Christian over at BMW Motorsport HQ in Germany, he told me the Ohlins double-adjustable race setup on the GT4 race cars were much more expensive than even the KW Club Sport coilivers. If you're curious to know how expensive they really are...I could contact BMW Motorsport for you. (to see how many banks you would need to rob in order to pay for them ) And if anyone cares...the $2800 Ohlins street kit (shown in the pic above) uses a twin-tube shock design, not a mono-tube shock design.

What are you implying with the twin tube? From what I have read, at the non-racing level it makes no difference assuming it is properly designed... |
