Question Using 2 different brake pads?

Does anyone if it's gonna matter if i'm using 2 different ceramic brake pads on the car?

The fronts are going to be Akebono and the rears are going to be EBC red stuff.

Reason being for 2 different brakes pads is cuz the other place i ordered the EBC brake pads from had a miscommunication with my order and did not have the EBC fronts in stock, so i just got the rears. I ordered the EBC fronts from another place and well they ran out of stock and sent me some akebonos instead...

The sales guy said its not gonna matter cuz they are both ceramic pads...true?

I would want to run the same brand. they have to different. they are made by different manufacturers. Unless you kind find specs that prove the materials are the same and the performance values are the same.

I wouldn't trust a sales guy that is just throwing different parts at you because he didn't have the right ones in stock

I don't think it shoud matter. I've got the Alcon front BBK, which clearly has different pads than the rears, and it it not a problem.

As long as the pads are the same from side to side, I wouldn't worry about running different pads front and rear.

Low dust Akebono Euros in front and Axxis in the rears.

If you want your best braking, this is the only response that makes sense.

There are a lot of factors in brake design, including initial bite, cold bite, warm bite, and your personal bias preferences. Your pads don't match. Persnoally, I wouldn't do it.

^^^Thanks

If you are only after a reduction in brake dust and don't care about anything else then just go buy whatever cheapie lo-dust brake pads on sale at your local auto parts store and save yourself a bunch of cash

I don't like the excessive brake dust but when it comes to front pads,I want name brand and Akebono makes pads for many auto manufacturers both in the US and abroad.

i was thinking it wouldn't be a good idea. but i have done my research and akebono and ebc red stuff seem to have good reviews. as far as i'm concerned, they are both ceramic pads. i guess i'll find out when my mechanic does the brake job...

i can't find the ebc fronts anywhere anymore...they're out of stock...anyone know where i can find some "EBC red stuff ceramic" pads???

i already checked placeforbrakes.com they were out of stock for the fronts.
