Another JB3 2.0 Beta Satisfied Customer
So I upgraded to 2.0 beta could not resist sense I had the Gen3 board already very economical. Got it from Mike at n54tuning.com. AWESOME! Communication and extremely fast shipping took two days. Install of chip and cable took ten minutes.
I got it a couple days ago and want to give it a good test but have been busy. But today is a different story now I understand what everyone is saying about smooth, its really an understatement. Its such a linear acceleration took my friend and he didn't even notice we were doing 140mph (safe road). When dropping gears for example to second like at 60mph car launches and it is linear the whole way through. Oh and 3rd gear goes to 100mph before I have to shift to 4th. I have automatic using manual mode. Honestly EXTRAORDINARY job burgertuning.com and staff. Great experience and customer service. I LOVE MY CAR!! For "valentines" I got her a aero lip and aw painted grills

Nice to hear... This justifies that I'm moving from 1.4 to 2.0...
Did you ran the serial cable from your ECU towards your compartment?

Probably not - that takes more than 15 minutes LOL.
You can always cap and electrical tape the jb3 cord and secure it some where COOLER in your engine bay.

You needa G2 or a G3 board to get 2.0
Just buy the chip and pop it in! With G2, you can use 2.0, but you cant connect the cable ( G3 is needed for this) which gives you datalogging through a comptuer usb connection, firmware update, custom tunning if you want. G2 board and 2.0 will work just like everyother Jb3, pedal map switching, etc. and you will have the latest 2.0 tuning setup which seems to be really good over 1.4. G3 board you can beyond just running the tune, and buy the Use cable to datalog/custom tune/ and update the tuning. But remeber it it still in beta, and if you are gonna run higher maps and run into problems, the BT cable is needed and should contact Terry directly. |

Easy access and removal. Only draw back is you have to run the cable through the passenger window when you want to data log. Here's where I put mine: I put a USB cap/cover over the USB then taped it to insulate and secure it. After driving around, the cable is no warmer than ambient temperatures to the touch in this spot. |

I actually left my cable right next to the ecu box with a cover I had for one of my flash drives covering the USB cord. Whenever I connect it I just take off the black cover right over the ecu box run it around and put the cover back.
As far as low rpm's they are greatly improved as well, the car launches even when on just "D" and the power is consistent and well balanced.

Ignore all the captions, just follow the red line - I took this image from somewhere else and drew a line on it (credit where due). This is how I routed the wire out of the ECU box. It goes out smashed between the rubber grommet and the ECU box lid, then under the rubber flap up towards the windshield, then out. (If you push down on the rubber grommet you can create some wiggle room for the cable to rest in, it's not entirely 'smashed'.) Sorry E9TWO ! Last edited by shoes; 02-13-2010 at 03:59 PM.. |
