I must admint being a little hesitant about these cars but yours looks absolutely spot on. Even the interior as I usually don't like Merc interiors. Nice one.

I keep glancing back at those photos and likey it more and more. The first picture really shows off it's stance well. Looks quite large though compared to your E92 - is it heavier???

I can imagine the AMG version being completely stunning and might change my general hatred (bit strong!!) for Mercedes.

Wow, thats a lot of positivity out there, cheers guys. Sneaked a little drive in and all is well in respect of ride, handling, steering etc. Start stop works really seamlessly with the auto gearbox. The engine is what i'd call efficient, only gave it a quick blat and it builds speed effortlessly, but its no creamy sixpot ala a 330d. There isnt the typical 4 pot vibration at all, but there is a reasonably well insulated four pot engine note. Still, 45 mpg without trying is the rub. First gizmo I've noticed is the coffee cup icon in the dashboard that I think means I'm tired. And the seat belts give you a little hug a couple of seconds after you plug them in. Oh, and you get a readout of the current speed limit wherever you are.

The sharkfin looks a bit poxy though!

Roger - size wise I checked a while ago, I think it is 5 cm longer, 3 cm taller and 1 cm wider than an e92. Weights 1650 I recall which i think is identical.

It's telling you the system is armed. I believe if you fall asleep a hand comes out of the glove box and slaps you

I drove one today, a C250CDI AMG Sport Coupe. I quite like the look of them and the inside is a great place to be. However, the diesel engine is very noisy and vocal, certainly compared to the 2 litre BMW diesel engine. Gearbox was good and I quite like the COMAND Nav setup, but no 3D nav picture. Dashboard and seats are very nice and its seems well built. I got quite the hard sell when I got back. Saw a lovely Calcite White C250CDI Edition 125 with Pano roof and flamenco red leather - stunning car. The figures were a miles away from where they needed to be though.

Quick call into my local Audi dealer on the way back and sat in an A5 Black Edition - sorry, but for me it is the better car on most counts - Price, spec, economy, looks. It looks so good and has huge road presence and I have always had a massive liking for the A5.

If looking purely at lease costs though, I can see why the C Class Coupe is the winner, the A5 is hundreds more on personal lease, but cheaper than the Mercedes on a new car PCP.

All this done for research purposes of course
