Inch worm poop...
I hate that my car has to be parker under a tree...no way to avoid it (unless my neighbor cuts it down).
My car is getting covered in inch worm poop. The pic does not really show the detail, but the poop is kinda leaving a ring around each pellet. It seems to wash off OK, but was wondering what would be the best product to help protect the paint. I am going to have my car detailed for the first time (clayed and Zaino), do you think this would be good enough?

....ask about your community or state laws cus here in florida if someones tree is branching towards my property then in some cases the law works with you and they have to cut down the tree or at least trim it so that it doesnt go into your space....where i live my neighbor had to cut down her tree cus it was dangerous having it so close to the parking area during hurricane season (it had already damaged 2 trucks the year before)

funny this came up... on my neighbors property line is a huge oak tree, its half dying, it drops acorns, and dead branches from nose bleed heights. with the arrival of my E92 and having to constantly clear my driveway i had enough and asked a tree company to come in.
In NJ anything 'over' your property line is 'yours'. so told them to clear any branches hanging over the line. id say about half the tree is gone now. I get more sunlight in my garage, my driveway stays clear. i can pull the cars out of the garage with no fear now. It was totally worth the few hundred bucks. they did it with a big cherry picker truck.

I'm having this same thing, the number of worms this year in Boston area is nuts! I live in a condo and the whole parking lot has oak trees around it, there's quite literally one spot that isn't under an oak tree so that's where I park now.

I talked to my neighbor today and he is thinking about cutting it down if he adds on to his house.
He had a few tree guys come out and quote $6,000 to take it down. I think it would be unsafe to cut off my side only since it is so big. It's like 60'+ tall and 3 people can't grab hands around it. Might have to deal with the poop till the inch worms are gone.

Already looking in to a car cover. Want to find one that can be used outside and is OK to get wet.

i'd get a cheap car cover ASAP! but any good WAX protectant should be fine, Id wash it clay it and then put a good polish/wax combo on like Griots.

the wax alone is not gonna do any good...poop is acidic..itll burn right though the wax then clear coat then reach the paint...the you start crying...i know i would. lol BMW sell outdoor car covers...although IMO they're over priced.......you get what you pay for though...dont buy a cheap car cover like mentioned before...you have a 50 thousand dollar (if not more!) car...spring a little money into the car cover so itll last you a life time. i leave the country sometimes for up to 2 months...and when i do i always leave it with the car cover. some car covers even come with a lock so that only you (with the key to the lock) can take it off. lol

Wax coatings act as a sacrificial buffer between a paint surface and the elements; these coatings are gradually used up (hence sacrificial) and reach a point where they can no longer protect; when they reach this point they must be renewed. Once attacked by acid (acid rain, Bird or Insect excrement, Industrial fallout, and etc) it should be removed and a fresh coating applied.
