its a 4 hour drive from here to Flanders, so we'd have to leave no later than 8am. they've changed the location a few times, let's get them to move it closer to DC

If we use our usual Mid Atlantic crew clock, I say we should arrive just in time....fashionably late

I would suggest leaving no l8er than 0700 from Laurel, which means the Tysons caravan needs to leave no l8er than 0615. Travelling to and from my parent's home in Central Jersey there is alot of construction just north of Baltimore and even more in DE. Also the area in New Brunswick btw NJTP to 287 in NJ can be a hot mess on Saturdays. This is near Rutgers, so if they have a home game on that day the traffic will be rough. There is alot of construction in this area. This will also give us time to stop for bathroom break and breakfast or lunch.
May I suggest the following route, I take this way home. Take 95 to 895 back to 95 then 295 when u enter NJ to Bordentown. Here u can enter exit 7 for the NJTP. Also taking 295 instead of NJTP from the NJ/DE border allows for filling up the tanks b4 getting to North Jersey. The gas along 295 is cheaper than along the NJTP and cheaper than gas in North Jersey.
It is possible to avoid the NJTP toll by taking Rt 1 (just like Rt 29 in silver spring or Fairfax County Parkway) from 295 to 18 in New Brunswick. The ride from 295 to 18 along Rt1 is 25 min and if u do the speed limit (55) u will not catch any lights. The down side is losing someone at a light if the caravan is really long.
U can also take 295 to 206 (local road) to 287. Longer ride and lights.

you are fucking joking right???

06:15AM??? I don't think Starbucks is even open at that ungodly hour...

We don't care about tolls as long as the route is cop-free for the most part.

Is this the only option we have bimmernupe????

yeah the 24hr Dunkins works well.

Bimmernupe, I think the usual straightforward 495-95-895-95-NJTP route should be fine. 4 hours easy. The construction zone you speak of really isn't a problem.

I drove up to the Princeton area this weekend taking the route KL2DC is recommending...it was a breeze, no issues whatsoever and got there in less than 2.5hrs

The first route is all highway except going from NJTP to 287. That is the route I would suggest. 295 and NJTP run parallel w/ each other. That is why I suggested take 295 to Bordentown then hopping on NJTP @ exit 7 so we can gas up before hitting N. Jersey. Do a Mapquest and u will c what I am talking about.
The time I suggested is optimal to get there on time and allow for a meal stop and construction delays. The other routes are suggestion in case the RTTI in our cars tells us there are delays ahead.

That is fine. Again the 295 to exit 7 was only recommended b/c gas is cheaper along 295 than NJTP and it would not put a crimp in our travel. Once u get to Bordentown the cross over to NJTP is less than a mile. There is also a major truck stop for the weak bladdered people. Especially the for the Starbucks junkies.
