Does your climate control adjust fan speed on AUTO?
Mine won't and I'm sure it is not working properly. I can set both sides to 63 degrees, AC on, AUTO pushed in and the damn fan will just blow on the 2 or 3 bar setting. Does anyone else experience this? Car is a 2009 e91 328.

all depends on outside air... if you set it to 63 and it is 52 outside, its gonna blow heat. the car uses a lot of sensors to figure out what temp and what fan speed.

The display is not an indicator of current fan speed when in Auto mode, it is RELATIVE fan speed. The system lets you adjust the fan speed for a given temp setting. Not trying to be "one of those forum guys" but this is explained quite well in the owner's manual. Now it may be that you really do have a problem, because if the car is really warm inside, cranking the temp down in Auto should cause gale-force winds out of the fan. But the display won't change. |

Agree. It uses sensors, and depending on outside / inside temperature car should do all mamba-jamba automatically.

My fan won't blow harder unless I turn it to MAX, otherwise, it is just a weak whisper of air. And this is when it is damn hot in the car, 80+ degrees outside and the car has been sitting for hours. Another thing I noticed is when the summer was in full swing, I could drive around for 30+ minutes with the AC on MAX and never really get comfortable.

On earlier E9x (06, 07, 08-09?) models, however, these same fan buttons override Auto and increase fan speed, with the display indicating fan speed. Last edited by BimmerEnthusiast99; 10-26-2011 at 07:42 PM.. |

What about the air adjustment knob on top of the radio or below iDrive. If it is set to red (warm air blowing) but the AC is set to a cold temperature, the car will casually "warm the car up to 63 degrees" while actually cooling it down through other air vents for an overall temperature of 63.

Do you have iDrive? In my iDrive menu under the climate menu there's is an option on how hard you want the fan to blow. Look in the automatic program section. I have mine set on moderate but there is a low and high setting too. Perhaps yours is set to low.
