Sparks and Coils before tune?
My car has 63k miles completely stock. I have been reading on here that I should change my spark plugs before installing a tune. Should I change my coils along with that? Spark plugs arent too expensive but the coils can add up.
One a side not I don't know if my car had its plugs changed at 45K, I know at around 45K (still under warranty) it got a new HPFP and 2 new injector do you thing they changed the spark plugs as well? Any input would be appreciated! |

Yeah so you think i should change the coils along with the plugs? Do you think I should change both of them before the tune or get the tune but then have problems? Haha

i wouldnt bother with the coils yet. just personal opinion. if i need them then i'll go get them. too expensive of a part to have it just laying around if nothing is wrong

the coils have been changed to a new part number, you may want to change them if you have the $, and know they should be good for a while, and that the performance will be better with new coils/plugs

Change only the plugs, but buy 2 extra coils just in case one or two go bad.
The coils like to fail and can break when you pull them out to get to the plugs. You'll know when a coil starts to go bad because the car runs like crap |
