N52 just hit 100k Miles

Hey guys, my 328i 6MT just hit 100k miles not too long ago. Actually about to hit 102k. I've done a considerable amount of maintenance/preventative maintenance to avoid the risk of costlier repairs in the long run. I just want to know what are some items that I will need to be on the lookout for going forward. Luckily with my car being an N52, engine wise, I should be in pretty good shape for lower maintenance needs than than the turbo motors.

Here's what I've had done so far
- Fluids: Brakes, tranny, diff, coolant.
- Oil Pan Gasket
- Oil Filter housing gasket
- Valve cover gasket
- Tensioner pulley (w/new belt)
- Water Pump/Thermostat
- Spark Plugs
- Control arm bushings (I regret not just upgrading to M3 arms )
- Vanos Cleaning
- MAF Cleaning
- New Camshaft Positioning Sensor (intake side)
- New OEM air filter
- Regular Oil Changes

That's about all I can really think of. I got the car with ~60k miles off my dad, who bought it new, and all the service records prior to my ownership show that not much else was done besides regular maintenance.

My indy shop recommend I change my engine mounts because they felt some vibration which I don't notice it to be that bad but from the research I've done it looks like the mounts do get pretty tired after 100k. So is this something I should consider fairly soon or wait till I feel more considerable vibration? Should I change the tranny mounts too?

I'm working on saving for coilovers but I'm in no hurry because my suspension doesn't feel too terrible yet. The shocks are worn but definitely still have left in them. The car never dealt with terrible roads so that could be why the shocks still have life after 100k. What bushings should I look into replacing that will make a considerable difference?

What else should I look into for maintenance needs/upgrades?

You did quite a lot and seems you have covered the main stuff on the car. The Engine Mounts should've been done at the same time as Oil-pan gasket job. Save the labour kinda thing. Like I said you have covered majority of stuff that fails with these cars.

How does the clutch feel? Sluggish starts? Battery replaced yet?
Since you had MAF Sensor cleaned, you should change the engine air filter too.
Check the expansion tank vent hose that runs along the top of the radiator from the expansion tank. Overtime it becomes brittle from all the heat and starts leaking.
coils may start failing if still on the originals from factory as well.

All in all, the car is good. Happy driving.

I changed my engine mounts at 149k, while changing the oil pan gasket. Oil pan gasket change is the perfect opportunity as they can be easily accessed. If you can tolerate the NVH you have now, you might consider waiting until you have to or if your pan gasket needs attention again.

You might be able to help the situation with new trans mounts, which should be much easier to install. Labor should be under an hour.

Changing my mounts did make a noticeable difference. Before the change, I could feel the vibration and a low level drone, though other drivers and passengers never noticed.

'00 323I 150k
still runs strong, shifts great.
Some things I had issues with Post 100k-

shocks/struts/swaybar endlinks
*rear shock mounts (must be done w/ suspension upgrade if original)
new springs (one broke)
*flex disc replaced (vibration while accelerating, I'd check into this)
thermostat again
plugs
Intake boot needs to be replaced, currently cracked and rtv'd

If you haven't yet, drain and refill transmission.
I believe I used Syncromax. It made a noticeable difference.

I've yet to touch the engine/transmission mounts or clutch.

Coils.
Pre cat 02 sensors
Engine mounts.

Tran fluid
Diff fluid
Transfer case fluid.
Flush brake fluid

Not sure how it works on
But make sure crank case vent working
Or pcv system working.

If the car more the 8 yrs old I would check
All rubber hoses or vac lines coolant lines.
Those usually last 10 years.

'10 E90 328i automatic here with 114k miles.

Aside from regular scheduled maintenance at the dealer (free loaner woohoo):

Brake fluid flushed at 90k
Transmission filter/fluid at 110k with Maxlife
New coils and plugs at 80k
Valve cover gasket at 95k
New brake pads when needed (hawk)
Cabin filter at 70k
Air filter when needed
Accessory belt tensioner, idler pulley, and belt last weekend (do it yourself in 15 mins)
M3 alignment (I do track days)

What still needs to be done:

Front bushings clicking: M3 upgrade
New shocks/struts: Bilstein Sport
New rims: Staggered sucks on the track, they need to go. 18x9 square Apex PS-7.
OFHG started a very slow leak, needs a fixing when the water pump ever decides to die (yes it's original at 114k miles).
